Taamir (Bahriyyeh) The social housing project Taamir was built side by side with the Ain El Helwe refugee camp in the costal Lebanese city of Saida. Four of the buildings of Taamir were called “Bahriyyeh”, inhabited by fishermen thanks to the efforts of local politician Maarouf Saad. The fishermen families grew, the buildings expanded, loyalties consolidated and life in Lebanon post-Nakba unfolded. Visit my bandcamp to learn more and YouTube for the full video.
