I’ve been making an effort to drink a little more local lately 🍷 The more Ontario wine I drink, the more I think we’re entering a really exciting phase. There’s so much happening in our own backyard. So here are a few of my favourite Beamsville, Jordan, and Niagara on the Lake stops; the spots that make me excited to keep exploring what’s in our own backyard: Benchlands - more pinot, gamay, and chardonnay!  🌱 @thewateringcan  Garden store, lunch spot, plant therapy… basically an excuse to get lost for an hour or so. Wish it was open on Sundays :(  🍇 @bachelder_wines Chardonnay & Pinot Noir that show just how special our cool climate can be. They growing both on several different single vineyard sites to discover where it grows best, which is fun to experience in their “Batcave” taste and buy - appointment only 🍇 @pearlmorissette Boundary-pushing, experimental and never boring. They question conventions, play with varieties and winemaking techniques, and make wines that feel unmistakably connected to this place. I highly suggest their “nucleus” tastings.  🍇 @malivoire A longtime favourite for Gamay with a lovely cheese truck.  🍇 @rosewoodwine Family-owned, great wine, great vibes, and plenty of personality. Lots of personality!  🍔 @fatrabbit Michelin Guide-recognized and making a damn good burger. Even better? They have serious love for Ontario wine, too.  NOTL - a little more touristy with tons of charm 🥧 @13thstreetbakery If butter tarts are your love language, you’ll want to make this your first stop.  🍇 @bigheadwines Their RAW series is seriously special - I almost always leave with the Syrah. Their tasting menus are impossible to choose between, but fortunately, there’s no wrong answer. I can’t wait to try their Lipinski line 🍇 @stratuswines Love their Chardonnay Amphora. And if you’re tasting, book the White Label. Trust me on this one! 🍇 @twosisters_vineyards Consistently one of my favourite stops in NOTL. Great wine and an impressive menu 🍇 @colaneriestatewinery The closest thing to a European escape without leaving Ontario. A ridiculously beautiful patio and almost mandatory cheese plate. My friend group’s favorite stop.

Ramenlicious is back by @midoriramen.official Every 2 weeks they will have a new ramen 2 more days to try their Matcha ramen Gotta try this with the Ramen crew! 🍜Matcha Ramen, They sprinkle matacha powder on the top. Can't really taste a lot until the end cause the powder went to the bottom after you mix. When you do taste the matcha is not much but you can tell the difference cause it does help cut into the fattiness of the broth . . . . 6.⁷⁸⅜⅖⅖/10

Matcha Ramen ($20.95) @midoriramen.official *Ramenlicous Specials July 15 - 28* Midori's Semi-annual Ramenlicous had showcase four different types of ramen this summer season. Starting off with the Matcha Ramen. Consists of signature Tori Paitan broth blended with Matcha powder. Ramen were topped with Duck Breasts, red onion, red pepper flakes, fried enoki, micro greens, and scallion sesame oil. Me and a couple of ramen lover friends had genuinely hop by to check this out. #notsponsored . Below comment consists of positive and constructive feedbacks. Let's started with the positive note. Matcha noodles concept itself had loads of potential, and it does exist in the market. I.e. matcha flavored soba noodles. Midori's Matcha Ramen tend to put on the emphasis on their ramen broth. After we tried, some of us think that the infusion of matcha had slightly reduced the heavy/fatiness taste of the creamy chicken broth. Fried enoki, micro greens, and scallion sesame oil as a topping were pretty interesting to this combination. As a Tori Paitan Ramen itself is tasty as the Midori standard. As a Matcha Ramen, imo the matcha presence is not enough in this case. Perhaps rich and creamy chicken broth had kind of overpowered the flavor of matcha. Perhaps they can put additional matcha powder in, but too much might make it taste bitter at the end. I think finding the right balance is the key. Also, we found that there's a possibility matcha powder doesn't completely dissolve into their broth. Some of us find that the flavor get a bit stronger as we stir the buttom part of this broth. Perhaps if we can't change this broth, maybe let's paired this with matcha infused noodles. Would that enhance the overall matcha flavor? Finally, this bowl had good amount of duck breast. It's alright but I think there's room for improvement. 👍 Overall, for anyone who loves to try something new .. feel free to check this out for the experience. If you are really going for the matcha, you might as well bring your own matcha set. Make the matcha base liquid first then blend it right into this broth. Just kidding 😜😜.. Anyways. We will be back for the next creations. 🍜 #ramenloverunite

📍Musoshin Ramen 9 Boustead Ave, Toronto, ON M6R 1Y7 Love this little ramen store🥹 First time trying! I got the ajitama ramen -amazing broth. They’re on the Michelin guide 🥸 It does get busy on weekends so better go early! They also have freshly baked shokupan 🥹 the butter taste was not as strong so it’s healthier ?🤣 really soft texture 🥹 The yoghurt cheesecake is also a must try! It was quite sour- there was more yoghurt taste than cheese but combining it with the strawberry compote was perfect🤤 never had something like this before. I want the recipe lol🥹
