Glyders in the Gloom
AHC Ladies Special Edition

The plan was to scramble up Seniors Gully and over the ridge but the sensible members of the group out voted us! (And yes there are a few of those)

Recently, every time I've brought a group to Snowdonia the weather has been totally unpredictable. Our last hike here was Tryfan and we had been super lucky as it was spot on...not to hot not too cold. Today though was a different story altogether. It was pelting it down but mind you it was a lovely kinda rain. You know, the one that you don't mind going for a walk in or maybe I was just in the mood for a proper winter hike. We got ourselves sorted and headed out. I was following a customised route. Which, when I shared with the group they looked at me like are you for real...she is defo going to give us a run for our money.

It was our first hike in 5 weeks and we were all in high spirits. No amount of rain/wind was going to change that! When you watch the video you can see we ended up making a group decision to not attempt Senior Gully/ridge due to the poor weather conditions but instead gave devils kitchen, Glyder Fawr, Fach and the Cantiliver a visit instead. My group are awesome. We have the best laughs no matter what the weather and safety always comes first 😇

Hellvellyn Via Striding Edge: Lake District National Park

Highlights include:

At 950m, Helvellyn is the third-highest peak in the Lake District. And climbing it is on many walkers’ bucket-lists. Especially the route via Striding Edge, one of England’s most iconic Grade 1 scrambles. This is an adrenalin-filled day of big fells, big views and what feels like a knife-edge clamber up the ridge. You can choose your own level of difficulty on Helvellyn. There are route variations to suit walkers of different abilities.

Finally ticked off Scafell Pike this weekend.
It was one of those hikes that really pushes you — the kind where you feel every step, but in a good way.
The sun was intense the whole way up, no shade, just open space and heat, which made it even more of a challenge.
Reaching the top felt unreal. Something I’ve wanted to do for a while, and definitely one that’ll stick with me.

Would I do it again? 🫣 Must definitely would, in sha Allah my next challenge would be to conquer all 3 beast in sha Allah together 😨🫣 My biggest challenge, the National 3 peaks 🤷‍♀️ one day, In sha Allah.

Hi Sisters! 🌿🥾

This weekend we’re heading back to where it all started — Dovestones! It's one of my absolute favourite places to hike, where you just can’t go wrong.

We’ll be walking around the reservoirs, doing a little scrambling, and going on a proper Dovestones adventure together.

This hike is for everyone, beginners, moderate hikers, and experienced hikers alike. Whether you haven’t hiked in a while and want to get started again, or you’re out on the trails all the time and just want to meet the rest of the gang, this is your chance.

Come, take part, meet other sisters who love hiking, and most importantly, have some fun together. 🌸

Bring me some tea if you like✨️
