Beste langhelg ever!

Deretter lyder Harold Budds Pavillion Of Dreams over anlegget, og så begynner showet. Velkommen!

Velkommen ✨

It's out!
Håvard Wiik Trio – Hicsunt Leones! If you're in Oslo you can catch them playing live at Kafé Hærverk the 13th of October.

Hic Sunt Leones presents 12 original compositions by Wiik, written specifically for the trio and shaped
by the musicians’ long-standing collaboration. Built around composed material, the trio uses each
piece as a starting point for open interaction, shifting between structure, improvisation and spontaneous development. The result is a focused and highly individual piano-trio recording that reflects both the ensemble’s established musical language and its continued interest in new directions.
The title Hic Sunt Leones(“Here Be Lions”) refers to
the markings used on historical maps to indicate unexplored territory-an apt description of a trio working with familiar forms while continually pushing the music into less familiar terrain.

"...The trio threatens a maelstrom, only to retreat and return to the opening material. In just a little over four minutes they’ve quietly pulled the rug out from under you and then put it back.”– Bill Meyer, Magnet Magazine

All compositions by Håvard Wiik
Produced by Håvard Wiik.
Recorded at Dokkhuset by Kyrre Laastad.
Mixed by Kyrre Laastad.
Mastered by Helge Sten at AudioVirus LAB.
Cover design and artwork by Federico Peñalva.
Executive Producer Ingebrigt Håker Flaten.
