🚨 Excited to present you our upcoming exhibition by Herman Asselberghs: Time Wasted 🚨 In this solo exhibition, the Brussels-based artist Herman Asselberghs presents four new works. Time Wasted originates from the educational context of the arts college, more specifically from the film department on the Brussels Saint-Lukas campus of LUCA School of Arts where the artist has been active for over a quarter of a century. What started as an idea of making a documentary feature on campus resulted in three film works in installation form and a publication. The initial focus on similarities and differences between the movie theater and classroom gradually shifted to attention. In these current times of divided attention, finding, losing, and regaining focus can not be taken for granted for neither the student nor the film spectator. The exhibition space, with its multiple screens, simultaneous projections, and mobile visitors, is the ideal place to pay attention to attention. We're counting the days 💘 See you at the opening on Saturday 2 March, 18–21:00!

Images from our recent event with Elephy coorganized with Auguste Orts, Beursschouwburg and On & For Production: Talking, Reading, Watching Collectively. Next Saturday (Feb 26), we’ll launch Rebecca Jane Arthur and Eva Giolo’s publication BE GOOD, IF YOU CAN’T BE GOOD, BE GOOD AT IT BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. To register please email info@elephy.com There are so many things about this exhibition that I love. The book is one of them. Another that lights me up is Christina Stuhlberger’s work inspired by Johan Grimonprez’s 1994 film “Comment Filmer Molenbeek? (How to film Molenbeek?), which was made from footage of participants in a workshop initiated by Francisca Lambrechts. Nearly 30 years later, Stuhlberger organized a workshop with the @molenbeekrebels. The two films are presented together. #1994 #2022 #molenbeek #molenbeekrebels #elephy #basketball #art #workshops #video #howtofilmmolenbeek #begood #begoodatit #boomboomboom #harlanleveyprojects #harlanleveyprojects1080

The second publication from On & For , it forms a printed memory of the project in its second edition. More information can also be found via link in bio. Over the course of its initiative, On & For aimed at sharing knowledge and experience, and this book functions the same. The book gathers and presents for the first time, three year's worth of activity in and around artists' moving image with essays and images by curators, artist-filmmakers and producers from different geographies and career-stages, the publication hopes to open up easier navigations through the medium, and the economies, organisations and ecosystems in which it circulates.  Editor: Rebecca Jane Arthur. Design: Caroline  Wolewinski  of Bureau  Wolewinski Image description: A black and white photograph depicts a silhouetted figure with cabling and microphones at their feet. They are backlit, only the folds of their clothing against their shoulders and the curl of their hair is visible to us. On top of the figure sits text and a logo, which reads ‘On & For Production And Distribution’. The On & For logo is two overlapping circles, their thin white lines converging to create a leaf-like shape at the centre, the right hand circle is cut across with a horizontal ’T’ shape, which divides the leaf-like shape vertically down the centre.
