Introducing the West Coast 200 - a world first on a legendary trail.

The West Coast 200 is a 200 mile running adventure from Portmeirion to St David's along the iconic Wales Coast Path.

It's the only 200 mile race in the world (that we can find!) that's held entirely on a coastal path, so we chose the absolute best.

There are only 100 spaces available, and more than half are already gone.

This coast path pilgrimage starts on Tuesday the 7th of September in the enchanting Italy inspired Portmeirion and finishes in Britain's smallest city, St Davids.

I’ve had a chance recently to revisit some of the moments I’ve photographed throughout this year’s Stable Adventures events.

So many faces, stories and memories from across the races, and plenty of photographs I’ve been wanting to share.
There are plenty more moments from the year I’ll be sharing over the coming weeks.

It's no exaggeration to say that Trail Angel @missroxyflower has rescued countless people's races this year.

The running world is full of people who give up their time, and energy, to support others - honestly, it's remarkable - but even so Rachel stands out.

For those that haven't heard the legend...

Rachel has been at every @wildhorse200 and @onaseries race this year, right from registration until the very last runner crossed the finish. She places herself at points throughout the race with a van full of food, drinks, and moral support.

Sideways rain, she's there. Middle of nowhere, she's there. Blistering sunshine, she's there.

Sometimes she's dancing in the road, other times she's got her van lit up like a christmas tree.

She gives more than anyone could comprehend, because she wants to see everyone get that finishers medal.

I sense that it's not really about the snacks - although I'm damn sure they're taken gratefully! - it's about that ellusive quality Rachel has to help people run on feeling lifted and a little lighter.

So Trail Angel, Van Lady, or even just Rachel this is for you.

I knew my words would never do justice so I brought in some people whose might.

Now the trauma of raging torrents, knee deep bogs, ankle breaking tussocks has passed, well maybe…let’s look back at how cool it was to run 100 miles around deep dark remote Mid Wales last weekend!

It was special to watch @plodtv & @danielwilliams448 finish the Divona 100, knowing that both men had pushed beyond their limits to get there.

@plodtv had just finished running 3 100 milers back to back in 6 days. A absurd challenge dreamt up by @willfrasercoombe to raise money for @sportinmind

@plodtv should be studied by scientists, but the results should be locked away for the good of us all 😂

His 2026 looks a little like this:

100 miles around a roundabout
@thespeedproject
6 ultramarathons with @pegasusultrarunning
South Wales 200 & Mid Wales 200 with @wildhorse200
3 x 100 milers with @epona100ultra, @sirona100ultra & @divona100ultra
3 Canal races with @canalracecic (145, 130 and 40 miles respectively)
3 back to back 100 mile runs in 6 days for @sportinmind (replicating the @onaseries )

Reflecting on all this, it occured to me that I never even questioned that @plodtv would finish it all - Which in itself is remarkable.

We're used to seeing Plod do impossible things but let's not get used to how remarkabke this is.

I also want to make sure @danielwilliams448 gets his flowers here. He ran @epona100ultra a few months ago - his first 100 miler and something he didn't expect to achieve - and here he is in the video finishing his 3rd to complete the @onaseries

A remarkable achievement in itself and a pure display of determination and self belief.

There's a risk this crazy stuff becomes normalised, especially when I have a front row seat to lots of them, but I'm determined never to overlook the scale of achievement.
