Met zijn label One of xx steunt Bas Timmer zijn Sheltersuit Foundation, die internationaal bekend is om de slaapzakjassen voor daklozen.

Dat het ene succes geen garantie is voor het andere, ondervond Bas onlangs. Met zijn Sheltersuit Foundation oogst hij internationaal lof, terwijl zijn streetwearlabel One of xx aan de rand van de afgrond stond.

De eerste maanden na de start in 2025 werd One of xx positief ontvangen. Dit jaar verliep wisselend, met als dieptepunt de voorbije zomermaanden. „Ik raakte in paniek. Iedere avond lag ik in bed te zweten en non-stop te piekeren over hoe ik dit zou fixen.” Van de drop op 1 september verkocht hij slechts twee T-shirts en één pet. „Toen heb ik echt niet geslapen. Klaarwakker scrolde ik door mijn video’s en besloot zijn pitch te posten.”

De video ging viraal. De 5 miljoen views betekenden ook het keerpunt. „Het is gewoon geëxplodeerd. In een maand tijd behaalde ik 10.000 procent groei.”

Finishing up an amazing production trip in Portugal! 🇵🇹🔥 Getting everything ready for our November 1st drop and some surprise drops throughout the month!

4 new everyday tees, 2 photo tees, 1 cut-up crewneck, 2 zip hoodies and 3 cut-up raglan tees. All made from amazing deadstock fabrics!

But the biggest discovery? 3700 KILOS of luxury deadstock fabric! Originally produced for one of the biggest fashion houses in Paris. The quality is just insane!

I’ve got a whole box full of fabric swatches for upcoming drops throughout next year. Most fabrics are only available in small quantities, so everything will be quite limited.

I’m super grateful for everyone helping me with all of this. Working with such small quantities is really not normal for factories, so I appreciate all the flexibility and support! I don’t speak a word of Portuguese, but somehow we always manage to understand each other. A lot of smiling, waving and talking with our hands 😂❤️

Working my ass off and enjoying every second of it!

Pretty crazy to see this happening. Store by store, pitch by pitch. The dream is slowly becoming real.

My favorite crewneck so far. Made from beautiful deadstock fabric we found in Portugal. Triple stitching, bound collar, black-on-black embroidery, elbow patches and a loose fit. With so many pieces selling out, I’m heading back to Portugal this Sunday to find new deadstock for our next drops. ❤️
