Another @stephenking arrival today. I've finally got what I consider a grail edition of Salems Lot. I've wanted this for years so to finally have it puts a goofy smile on my face. And today The Stand Uncut Doubleday edition arrived. So a big win the past few days. #stephenking #book #bookstagram

👐🏻 TEN BEFORE THE END 👐🏻 It's crazy to me that we're already in the part of the year where I'd be considering which books I want to finish before 2026 comes to a close! A few people, including @readsbyrew, tagged me in this so here goes nothing! As you can see, there are a few first books in a series. So this will likely get significantly derailed as I decide to read other books in the different series I want to start. So really, it's these books plus all their sequels...I can do that, right? 😅 I'm no particular order. 20th Century Ghosts by @joe_hill Them by @whchizmar The Justice of Kings by @richardswanauthor Coffin Moon by @rossonkeith The Sunlit Man by @brandsanderson Salem's Lot by @stephenking The Tainted Cup by @r.jackson.bennett A Dance of Fang and Claw by @philipcquaintrell.author Voice of War by @zackargyleauthor A Breaking of Realms by @jasmineyoungofficial Tagged a bunch of you. What do you have on the docket? #Booksta #Bookstagram #tenbeforetheend #bookchallenge

📚📚📚 Five before the End @coffeereadercollector was kind enough to tag me in this challenge. Thank you Miguel!! I need to choose five books that I plan on reading before the end of this year. This was somewhat difficult as I’ve been in somewhat of a slump lately. So I’m hoping this will kick my butt into gear! Here’s what I chose: 💜Slewfoot by Brom ~It’s spooky season and this will be the perfect opportunity for me to finally read Slewfoot! I can’t wait to see what all the fuss is about. 🧙🏼 🤎Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry ~ This will be my third attempt to read Lonesome Dove. Now, don’t get me wrong, each time I’ve started I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it! I think I’ve picked it up at times when I’m just too busy and the size of it gets intimidating when I’m short on reading opportunities. But I feel like I’m ready now. I picked it up last night and it just feels right. I can’t wait to keep going! 🤠 🧡The September House Carissa Orlando ~I don’t know much about this one but I’m going to try to read this along with Lonesome Dove. I should be able to get through this before September is over. But we’ll see. Lonesome Dove is my first priority. But it seems appropriate to read The September House in September, no? I’m going in blind with this one so I’m excited as I’ve only heard great things! 👻 ❤️A Short Stay in Hell by Stephen L Peck ~I’m intrigued by this one! And it’s short so I should be able to sneak this in before the end of the year. 😈 🖤The Angel of Indian Lake by Stephen Graham Jones ~it’s time to finish the series! And seeing as I’ve already read the arc for Off the Reservation, I need me an SGJ fix. I’m excited!!! I’ll definitely be reading this one by the end of the year. 🔪 I’ll tag a few but as always, ignore if you already been tagged and no pressure to participate. And if you’re not tagged and want to be, consider yourself included! I work all weekend but I hope you all get to enjoy it! Happy reading folks! 🖤🖤🖤 #fivebeforetheend #neverendingtbr #nowisthetime #booklover #booknerd

I was tagged by @book.n.films in the Poetry Bookstack Challenge (their poem is magnificent!). Here’s my effort that veers more into a (very) short horror story and was undoubtedly inspired by my current read, ‘Salem’s Lot. The last man let the right one in by the light of the moon. The Idiot. 🌒 I’m going to tag some folk feel free to ignore, if you see this post take it as an invite to have a go, there’s some really good ones! I might tag some actual real life writers to try and get some professional efforts!!! #PoetryBookstackChallenge #bookchallenge #poetrychallenge #bookstack #booktitles

This is my second read of Neuromancer, partly to refresh my memory before the series is released. And, well… it’s incredible. I say that for a few reasons. This book coined so many words and phrases that we now take for granted. “Cyberspace” and “the Matrix” were created by Gibson before the internet was even a thing. Just think about that for a moment, and how much of what Gibson imagined has gone on to become reality. That said, this is a pretty dense book and exhaustingto read. It’s not a quick or easy read, and you really do need to concentrate and take your time with it. If you skim a sentence or miss a small detail, there’s a good chance you’ll end up confused. I know I did a few times, even on this second read, and had to go back and reread sections. The characters are solid and interesting, except Chase. He's pretty basic and at its core, this is essentially a heist story, and there are better heist stories out there Where Neuromancer really shines, though, is in its incredible descriptions and atmosphere. Gibson creates such a vivid, strange and futuristic world that the book almost feels visually overwhelming. Especially when this was released I can't imagine how anyone could visualise it. It’s a challenging read, but there’s a reason it’s considered such an important piece of science fiction. Even reading it again a few years later, it still feels remarkably ahead of its time. #neuromancer #books #bookstagram
