I wanted to pop on to share some pictures of the incredible work in Palette Swap! Curating this show was such an honor, people sent an incredible caliber of artworks featuring natural dyes, soil paints, and other natural color sources. Stop by @artsat302 to see the show any time the gallery is open from now to October 31st. • There is also a collection of items in the mini gallery including scarves and tunics from @jacobs.lynda , naturally dyed art supplies from @prairiefiredyes, and handmade paper from @sally.c.garner among many other treasures! • If you want to learn more about natural dyes, and join in on the fun, sign up for one of my natural dye workshops! The first workshop is this Saturday October 17th and covers all the basics of getting started with natural dyes. On October 24th I’m hosting a second workshop focusing on indigo! Link to sign up in bio. • #tulsaartist #tulsaart #oklahomaartist #oklahomaartists #brokenarrowoklahoma

I am, because they were. I am, because they are. I am here not only because my ancestors survived the horrors of generations of genocide, displacement, and erasure, I am also here because they held onto to the beauty, love, and hope in their hearts. To carry and tend to the fires that have burned since time immemorial will only ever be a gift. May I be Indigenous in every lifetime, may my life honor their legacy of survival and resistance. May I be proud for my papa, who carried so much fear and shame that he claimed another lineage until he walked on, yet he remembered who he was in his care for the butterflies, his love for marranitos, and his careful tending to the land May I be proud for my great grandfather, a carrier of stones and untold stories. We are remembering and telling them now. May I be proud for my great great grandmother, who anglicized her name for many years of her life, because the upheaval and violence in our homeland was strong. May I be proud for my dad, who loved the land of his home so much, he shared that love with my sister and I in the brief time we had together. May we continue to heal the wounds that generations of state violence inflicted upon his ancestors and him alike. May I be proud for the unnamed or forgotten peoples of my land and tribe, the missions could not erase us. May I be proud for my sister and I, as we navigate this world together, putting so many pieces back in place on ourselves, and sending love back through time to heal the brokenness. Indigenous existence is a miracle. Indigenous existence is a gift. Indigenous existence is resistance. Happy Indigenous people’s day. May we see justice in our lifetime.

These past five years have been some of the most challenging, chaotic, rewarding, and amazing years. I am so grateful for my family, friends, professors, colleagues who have been a great support system. I couldn’t have done this without you all 💕 now on to get my license so I can officially call myself an architect 🏛️

Yesterday Georgia and I wandered over to Third Thursdays on Admiral at @mixedusetulsa with one clear objective: Bang Bar glam courtesy of @kelsikaystylist ✨ Mission accomplished, feeling properly sassy. Bonus magic includes printing with @oneflowerchild and a dreamy stop inside one of our favs, @moonbeamconservatory. An evening well spent, just us girls and a little local sparkle. #tulsa
