POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Six years ago, we started with an idea. Today, we are celebrating FOUR Signal Awards 🏆 Three Gold and One Silver!!!! And tomorrow, October 21st is my birthday. I couldn’t have imagined a more meaningful early birthday present. But what makes this moment so special isn’t necessarily the awards themselves. It’s everything it took to get here. What many people don’t know is that On The Pass almost didn’t survive. More than once. Funding challenges, a dissolution of a business partnership and countless uncertainties that come with building an independent media and creative service business from the ground up. There were moments when walking away would have been the easier decision. But the team and I kept going. Not because we knew it would work, but because we believed, perhaps unreasonably at times that this work mattered. On The Pass has always been a love letter to the culinary and hospitality community. To the chefs, restaurateurs, artisans, visionaries and countless individuals who dedicate their lives to serving others. To the people who understand that hospitality is about so much more than food or restaurants or hotels. It’s about humanity, connection and making people feel something. We believed these stories deserved to be told and the wisdom and experiences of extraordinary people should be accessible not just to those at the top of our industry, but to the next generation building their careers, and to anyone who believes in the transformative power of hospitality. Six years later, that belief hasn’t changed. And today, I’m incredibly proud to share that On The Pass has been recognized at the 2026 Signal Awards with: 🏆 GOLD — Best Video Podcast, Brand Storytelling 🏆 GOLD — Arts, Culture & Lifestyle 🏆 GOLD — Food & Drink 🥈 SILVER — Best Indie Podcast Six years in, we’re still here...still independent, curious and building. And I genuinely believe we’re just getting started. With immense gratitude, Gabriel #SignalAwards #OnThePass #Hospitality #IndependentMedia #Restaurants

Food is how you make people feel loved. 🇲🇽❤️ At its heart, Mexican cooking is about generosity, tradition, and making people feel at home. From our grandmothers to the cocineras tradicionales, food has always been about more than what’s on the plate. It’s about nourishing people, bringing them together, and making them feel welcome. For Jorge Vallejo of Quintonil, that’s what cooking is all about: making every guest feel hugged and loved. Pressure isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes, it’s what brings out your best. Pablo Soto of Noma shares why the right kind of pressure can push you beyond what you thought was possible. The difference? Pressure that builds you, not oppresses you. PS: Today’s the last day to vote for the @signalawards choice critic award. An @onthepass.studios Production. The romance of the three-Michelin-star chase. Some of the greatest culinary icons weren’t chasing the spotlight. They were quietly building something extraordinary, guided by a belief bigger than themselves. For him, three Michelin stars represented something almost mythical: the gods of cuisine, the mystery, and the pursuit of greatness. An obsession with the craft that went far beyond the plate. The future needs hospitality! Everyone talks about what AI will replace. But the more digital life becomes, the more rare the human things feel. A warm room. A shared table. The feeling of being cared for. That can’t be automated. ✨ Hospitality isn’t behind the future. It may be what keeps us human. The biggest lesson Nancy learned from opening Campanile. Great food can bring people through the door. But running a restaurant requires so much more. For Nancy Silverton, opening Campanile was the moment she realized that being a great cook was only one part of the job. Staff. Operations. Business. Leadership. The layers behind the food matter just as much. Because as Nancy puts it: “As an owner, you can’t just cook.” Watch the full episode on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Link in Bio.
