A little training hall battle went down, Saturday morning after a teammate competed and fight before two others competed. lol. @amylyn_herrera has the platform and @hastings_andy @ontheplatformsc and myself, joined her.
After snatch, we went to C&J.
I hit 100, Bud too. I hit 105, Bud wants to add 3kilos… WTF?! lol. He went 108, so did I. Right away. Then he loads 112, thinking I wasn’t with it. But, nah, chill boy.. poppas hitting this too. So I did.
Two things, in most cases, most won’t go maxing after a comp… especially a day after. lol. Well, we did. Second, it never dawned on me to one up him. I’m so pissed. lol.

Fuck it,next fine Bud, you won’t walk away with a sin of any kind. Thanks for the lift off though. To everyone in the training hall. It was as epic as being on stage.

A little training hall action for you. We were tired, but we mustered up the energy to go on and throw weights around.

@attitudenation throws up 125kg like it’s a toy. 😵‍💫🏋️‍♂️ and he hasn’t trained in a month. In-sane.

When I was 16, I was told I’d never do the things I loved again. A back injury—serious enough that doctors said my days of playing football, lifting heavy, and general fitness—were over. I believed them. I wallowed in pity. It was difficult to find joy in things, especially when I was in constant and chronic pain. I prayed, wept, screamed in anger for nearly a year and one day a peace fell over me. There are many times where Jesus told those to stand and walk, healing through faith. I asked myself, “why can’t I?”

I wasn’t going to accept a life on the sidelines. I wasn’t going to let someone else decide what I was capable of. Every day since, I’ve trained, fought, and clawed my way back, not just to prove them wrong but to prove to myself that I could still chase greatness. A year ago, I set a goal: stand on the podium at a national meet. This past weekend at the Arnold, I did more than that—I swept gold in the snatch, clean & jerk, and total.

The moment was surreal, but I didn’t do it alone. My wife has been my biggest support, helping with food prep, words of encouragement, and even writing my training on the board when we were strapped for time. I had the best team in weightlifting behind me, pushing me, believing in me when I needed it most. The energy, the support, the camaraderie—it was electric. Every lift, every attempt, I felt their presence, their voices, their strength lifting with me. Thank you

And then there was my coach, Jon North. The man is a force of nature. He kept me locked in, focused, ready to attack every attempt with the same relentless aggression that got me here in the first place. In the back room, he and the team had my back, keeping me calm, keeping me sharp, making sure there was no doubt when I stepped onto that platform.

This weekend wasn’t just about winning medals. It was about proving to myself—and to everyone who ever doubted—that I was built for this. That no injury, no setback, no voice telling me “you can’t” was ever going to stop me.

This is just the beginning. The chase isn’t over.
