Major Key 🔐

You can do all that hard work and ruin it real quick by not recovering properly

A quality grass session allows you to recover from the track and high intensity demands of sprinting and also presents on opportunity to work on aerobic capacity as well as intentional positioning and different elements of racing

These workouts can be somewhat challenging but you should be feeling better the next day, not worse

Note: We had a big session on Monday of this week, we were on grass and gym Tuesday, Weds was active recovery, Thursday was this session here, and Friday we had some high quality race modeling … This is not always the structure because every day/week is different and we must be able to adjust. Never be a prisoner to what was written on paper!

Big congratulations to our Girls Varsity 4x100m relay team (Peterson, Gonzalez, Sorensen, and Holmes) on a great showing at the Trabuco Hills Invitational. Even with tough weather conditions, these girls gave it their all and represented our team with heart and determination.

Meet Highlights:
• Emily Peterson hit a new season best in the long jump at 16’1.5 and kicked off the relay with a strong first leg.
• Caitlin Gonzalez ran a solid 400m in 58 seconds despite 25 mph winds. She had a great start in the 100m before suffering a hamstring injury. Wishing her a fast and full recovery.
• Annika Sorensen pushed through after running the 100m hurdles and came back to run a strong third leg on the relay.
• Pricilla Holmes ran a sub-13 100m into a -2.0 headwind and finished the relay with a great anchor leg.

Proud of these hardworking athletes for showing up and competing through the challenges. A great experience with a great group of girls!

Our first winter all-comers qualifier meet of the 2025 season is in the books, and it was one of our best pre-season performances in a while. Records were shattered, many PRs were achieved, and there were lots of smiling faces. So proud of everyone who competed and grateful for all the athletes and their families for the extra help! #werunthistown #pioneerpride #speedkills #pioneerstrong #hardwork #consistency #rainorshine
