I’ve had a few fabric pop-ups over the years. But last weekend was by far one of my favorites. I was cutting fabric on an old Joann’s table at an in-person craft market, which was honestly a bittersweet experience.

@openhousecreativefest was last weekend in an old Joann’s store. Unlike any event I’ve been to before, the vendors had an activity that coordinated with their business that visitors could make and take home.

For my booth, I had fabrics for sale from my deadstock fabric collection, along with tons of scraps and fabric paints for visitors to play with.

Teaching people to use a sewing machine for the first time was honestly, my favorite experience. From ages 7 to 47! It was truly heartwarming to see their confidence grow as they created something with their own hands.

Which was such a reminder for me of how important sewing is. It’s a moment to slow down and make something with intention.

So while I wasn’t able to take the table home with me, I was reminded of how special the sewing community is and how connected we all are, despite age and experience level. Sewing connects us all.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth. It was amazing meeting real sew-by-sew customers in person. Thank you, @thepinatahouseofficial , for making my stencils, and thank you, Jess, @sewthestitch , for holding the fort with me and being your amazing self. ❤️

Thank you June for taking us all on a wild ride on the fire horse you were full of creativity, fulfilling firsts, loads of tin fish, and a release of a version of me that’s been waiting to be let go.

Recap of my 2-Days with @openhousecreativefest @delamofashion in an old Joann’s! 🥳💐🐯 what a rush lol
Over 100 people sat down and made floral stickers with me! It was so much fun and my heart was so full after each day.
I pressed all the flowers myself in my flower books and it was so nice to see how happy everyone was after they finished making their stickers. It was like they were taking a piece of me back with them. So much floral joy ✨
I’m so thankful for my big sis @jslinks helping me out all weekend. She even wore my vintage floral aprons (begrudgingly lol). I wish I was able to visit the other vendors and craft a bunch of stuff too! Folks came by with such adorable little crafts 🥹
What a fun way to bring floral joy to people, share my craft, and heal my inner child one bloom at a time ✨💐💕

What an incredible weekend at @openhousecreativefest ! 🧶✨

My heart is so full after such an amazing experience. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, adopted a plushie, or joined me in the Activity Garden to learn the first steps of crochet. 💙 Watching so many of you pick up a hook for the very first time and get excited about creating was truly the highlight of my weekend!

I’m beyond grateful for all the love, support, and kind conversations. It means the world to see so many handmade plushies finding their forever homes. 🥹🧸

A huge thank you to Lauren and everyone who worked behind the scenes to bring this incredible event to life. You created such a fun, welcoming, and creative space for both makers and attendees.

ART IS HEALING! The @openhousecreativefest i think healed something in a lot of people they didn't know they needed healing. Having to "adult" drains the life and flame we are started with as children. Art is NOT just something you have kids do in school because they cant do math yet. Art for me is the air i breathe, the ground I walk on, the water I move with and the flame in scared of. I saw soooo much pure joy and excitement watching adults be back in that state of play without the fear of being judged for "acting like a kid." This event was so beautiful and the kind words and affirmations I received really just reminded me why i was dragged into this body, in this time and space. I was born for this shit and I knew it so purely at 4yrs old and I know it 30 years later. Thank you to everyone who came and made trees with me, I honestly thought no one would want to make them bc I often feel unseen or invisible but yall went through 15lbs of clay and each piece was about 3in and left me with 5/40ish mugs and took my big babies home so yall really did that!😭😭🙏🏼🙏🏼

Just wanted to share this great event we stopped by on Sunday! We met with Lauren Tetef of @openhousecreativefest at the old JoAnne location at the Del Amo Mall in Torrance. Crafty activities all up and down the aisles, happy people crafting, many different stations and crafts to choose from. We had a great time! Great to meet you, Lauren!

thanks to Lauren for a) doing this b) putting out this call and c) being so fucking cool about it all.

saw a random post asking for artists to decorate a panel for her event, went in and grabbed 2. i decided to do a freebie wall to promote myself, and so far, ive gotten a few views and 1 whole new follower. yay!

i KNEW my hoarding was guna pay off 1 day. i managed to make 176 freebie bags. had i had a lil more time and had i distributed things more evenly, i might have been able to make more, but alas.

this was so much fun! 🥰

for those wondering what I do craft wise - honestly anything with paper.
i can make you banners, stickers, kits, idk anything. hit me up and let's talk about it.
mostly what people look for/need is time - and trust me, that's the one thing i have.
