What’s the best speed training for young athletes? Actual sprinting.

Young athletes don’t need overly complicated drills to get faster. They need to sprint. Short, playful races naturally develop speed by stimulating the central nervous system, improving coordination and teaching them how to express power safely.

At @opprugby the lads loved jumping into these short races, and this competitive edge helps them push harder without even realising it. When training is fun, progress comes faster.

At Revamp Performance and OPP, we help you to get faster, stronger and more confident. Book a free consultation with a qualified S&C coach and start moving closer to your sporting goals.

Happy to be working with a new and upcoming rugby academy in Dunedin called One Percent Performance @opprugby - It’s dedicated for younger athletes (ages 12-16) wanting to get that one percent better🛠️

For our recent session I was mic’d up from @jacobfiel and took the lads through some games, challenges and short sprints. At this younger age it’s all about having fun and working on technique👏
