"What is the nature of memory?" Always a true delight to catch up with @amylemairestudio ! We inevitably end up chatting about and finding surprising similarities between her practice of glass art and mine of photography. It was also a joy to meet @marcychevali for the first time, and to witness a bit of her work.

📢 I’m proud to share that three of my pieces have been acquired for the permanent collection at the Museum of American Glass at in Millville, NJ.

“Pulse” is a new sculpture that I started last fall as the inaugural Paul Stankard Flameworking Fellow at @wheatonarts.

“Inspired by the architecture of leafcutter ant nests—structures that enabled their survival through the cataclysm that ended the age of dinosaurs—what can we learn from the natural world about how to endure and thrive?”

Proud to have this piece included in the Museum’s collection!

“Lens #67” is a lens object made of borosilicate and 3D printed PLA. This tool clips to an iPhone to create digital images. This series is documented at @opticaldistractions.

“Intersection” is a digital image printed on alumininum that was shot through one of my lens objects.

Thanks @marycheekmills and the curatorial staff for acquiring these works. I’m thrilled that they are going to a great home.

Images of my ancestors embedded throughout the piece, with Mama looking in the window. It's also a tribute to my ancestors of jazz from Pensacola to NOLA.

Repost from @parakeetfarmer2
It’s truly an honor to be included in this exhibition alongside so many artists I admire at the best @hellergallery . Thanks @kimharty for this opportunity, and your visionary perspective evident in this show. River of Shadows opens today online and in person at Heller Gallery in NYC.

From the exhibition essay by Kim Harty: “Edward Muybridge unlocked the mysteries of motion in photographs. In the spirit of Rebecca Solnit’s Muybridge biography, Kim Harty curates the eponymous ‘River of Shadows’ an exhibition including the work of artists who use photography to investigate phenomena of motion, viscosity, transparency and illumination in glass.”
