Tough couple of days down at WPNSA for National Open 5.

Breezy, shifty, and full on work rate across all six races. Happy enough to see the progress as my results steadily creep up the fleet.

Fingers crossed for a quieter patch in this weekend’s storm forecast so NO6 can actually happen.

Good weekend at @carsingtonsailing for NS1.
First day tryed to get some races in but with no wind all races got abandoned. The Sunday had slightly more wind getting in 4 races, with a good start to the day with a 1st, 3rd, but ending with some sader result with a 10th, 12th which put me 11th overall just missing the top ten, but some positives to take away.
Overall a good weekend.

🇬🇧 National Open 5 🇬🇧

An amazing event down @wpnsa for @ilca_uk National Open 5! Two interesting days with interesting conditions.

Saturday we had around 13-17kts. Reading the shifts was very important with the wind coming off the land. With a high gust to lull ratio it was impossible to link the pressure. Race 1: 22nd / Race 2: 9️⃣th / Race 3: 🔟th!

Sunday was a breeze day on the water with around 17-23kts. Again it was very shifty with wind on the land, staying in phase was important. Race 4: 23rd / Race 5: 4️⃣th / Race 6: (26th)

Overall: 13th
4️⃣th U19

Overall happy with my performance but a lot of mistakes need to be ironed out. Definitely need to build on my consistency! Will take all the learnings into the next one!

A big well done to @tobywaggett_sailing for the win 🏆

Thank you to @ilca_uk for organising the event and to @wpnsa for hosting us. Thank you to all the volunteers and race committee for making the racing possible! A big thank you to my family for all the support! @katewilliams1185

TOPPER RUSS REPORTS: CARSINGTON NATIONAL SERIES! 🚐 💨

Two days at Carsington… and what a weekend! 💫

Day 1: Plenty of boat pimping, tinkering and hanging about waiting for the wind to show up! The breeze tried its best, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t enough to get a race away. 🤷‍♂️🔧

Day 2: Now we’re talking! 💨 The wind finally arrived at around 12 knots and we cracked on with FOUR RACES COMPLETED! Racing, grins and a proper day on the water. 🏁🔥

A massive THANK YOU to Carsington Sailing Club, all the volunteers, race team and everyone who made the weekend happen. You can’t control the wind, but you can always count on the Topper fleet to bring the energy! 👏

A huge well done to all our winners and to everyone who took part. It’s really exciting to see the rankings moving up and the competition getting stronger as the series continues! 🏆📈

Congratulations to the top three sailors in both fleets:

🏆 Topper 5.3
🥇 Alex Murray
🥈 Hendrix Long
🥉 Lena Tokajuk

🏆 Topper 4.2
🥇 Daisy Coates
🥈 Sebastian Ruddock
🥉 Oscar Grice

Right then… pack the boats, polish the skills and get ready for the next one!

📍 WEYMOUTH, WE’RE COMING FOR YOU! 🇬🇧🌊

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧 National Open 4 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A weekend of two halves for me with a brilliant Saturday and a disappointing Sunday.
Saturday brought stunning conditions with around 13-17kts. Sailing in pressure on a good shift was important. Race 1: 2nd 🥈/ Race 2: 6th

Sunday was an interesting day with a load of tide and very inconsistent wind. I had a very bad first race but learnt from it. Then the second race got abandoned which meant we didn’t achieve enough races for a discard. Race 3: 36th

Overall: 13th 🇬🇧
Welsh: 🥇🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

An event to learn from to say the least. We will come back stronger.

A big thank you to @eastlothianyachtclub for hosting us and to @ilca_uk for organising. Thank you to all the volunteers and race committee for making the racing possible! A big thank you to Dad for all the support and lift all the way up to Scotland!

Big well done to @tobywaggett_sailing for the win 🥇

🎬CHAPTER III: TRAINING STARTS AT SIX

📽️She overslept by five minutes.
Blanche noticed.

For Lady B, crossing the Atlantic doesn’t begin with the ocean. It begins with discipline, repetition, and learning to do the right thing before panic has a chance to take over.

Barnaby, naturally, has opinions too 👌🏻

This is only the beginning of their journey from the Scottish Borders to Madeira — and eventually across the Atlantic.

⛵️To be continued…

P.S.: Did anyone catch what went wrong with her gear?👇🏼

First @nacra15_17gbr winter training camp. Had the best time! Thanks @jasminewilliamssailing and @benharris_sailing for coaching us.

Day one was like summer again... we got to practice our light wind sailing, starts and racing.. we did well with that, we even won a practise race.

Day 2 was like the total opposite of day1....loads of heavy wind, rain, waves and fog. We were having a blast out there in the wind until I flew through the sail...ekk. Massive ripped hole! Thanks @benharris_sailing for helping with the temporary repair job to get us back on the water. I also tried out a new capzise method too 🤣

Looking forward to getting back out there as we are improving so much and getting better each time.
