PAMA - It's been a month and I miss you already. What an incredible time connecting with colleagues from around the world and even spending a bit more time with those who are close.

I love seeing how many Circus Fusion alumni are involved in the community and sharing the things that they love though brilliant presentations.

#CircusScience made a memorable and remarkable impact on the conference!

The group from University of Puget Sounds's Physical Therapy program did an absolutely stupendous job presenting our circus shoulder research. The students presented the data clearly and did a great job answering questions from the audience with confidence and humor. They freaking killed it! It was so good.

I had the privilege of presenting on concussions with two incredible Circus Fusion alumni, Liz Corwin, DPT who is our circus concussion go to clinician here in Seattle, and Krystle Celis-Palaganas, MS, ATC and Rehab & Movement Science PhD Candidate at Azusa Pacific University.

The panel on concussion was full of powerhouses from across the performing arts spectrum. I was honored to join Kristen Schuyten, DPT; Allyssa Memmini, AT/ATC, PhD; Lauren McIntyre, AT/ATC in a deep dive on how we can make a difference.

Fusion Alumni Natsuko Oshima, DPT made us think about how to move outside your normal box to discover another dimension of movement.

And I had the pleasure of seeing other Fusion Alumni Kathryn O'Brien and Edwin Jung 9oh my gosh I know I am missing folks!!!

And of course friends and colleagues I have had the pleasure of connecting with through the years and love getting to see each year. You make my cup full and make me feel like we are all on one big team caring for the artists in the world. Thank you

Finally, thank you NYC. I always miss you and it was great to be back! Until next year!

I had so much fun and learned so much at @pamassoc this year! The highlight was watching my amazing students give a flawless presentation! I loved seeing and making friends! I also got to present with @thecircusdoc and @_krystle_amanda_85 ! When I wasn’t attending outstanding presentations I was able to catch broadway shows and even got a kiss from a broadway star (Bravo, you are amazing!!).

💙 PAMA 2026 💙

An inspiring, amazing, foot-breaking experience (IYKYK)—and cannot wait to share what I presented, what I learned, and what could help performers—all from the collaborations from this conference and the fabulous providers all over the world!

Thankful to my co-presenters, including my husband, who had a run-in with a Times Square curb that resulted in some new footwear—but still attended all the presentations and explored a bit of the city with me 💙

Stay tuned this week as I share info from each presentation and highlight the amazing work being done by our performing arts medicine professionals and researchers 💙💙💙

🎭Thank you to @mghentis & @uscpt.con_ed for the invitation to create and teach this course for the performing arts fellowship curriculum. It was great to also invite the community and to have a group of physical therapists and students new to the circus arts. The need for healthcare providers with an understanding of the demands of circus training and performing is great.

🎪We dove into the details around physiologic and biomechanical demands of various circus disciplines, discussed case examples and heard artist perspectives. A special thank you to @junru_songzi for joining us and sharing your experience!

🤸🏽‍♀️Participants also got a feel for being upside down and hanging while considering alignment and muscle activation and went through clinical examination and exercises in the context of different groups of circus disciplines.

It was full and fun day and also a treat to be back in the place I started my physical therapy training!

Perfect way to spend World Circus Day!

And that’s a wrap on my very first PAMA conference 💃🏻 🩰 🎭 🎪 🎶 🤸🏽‍♂️

Nothing beats the magic of being in the room, and this year’s PAMA conference was no exception.

Thank you @pamassoc for the opportunity to present on Periodization in Dance - something you all know I’m super passionate about. There was so much great information on periodization and workload for performing artists, and I can’t wait to continue these conversations.

This might have been my first PAMA conference, but it most certainly will not be my last! 💜

And that’s a wrap 💙

So many feelings. Excited for the future. Grateful for the connections. Inspired by the shared company of so many people doing awesome things across the world for performers. Humbled to have been a part of it!

To all my performing arts colleagues—it was AMAZING to see you and collaborate here and look ahead to the future. To everyone I met and chatted with for the first time—cannot wait until we can connect again. The future of performing arts medicine is bright 💙

Thank you @pamassoc —until next year! 🧠⛸️
