Hard to imagine more gifted teachers to learn from and practice with during the Ten Days of Teshuvah/Turning than my beloved friend and @jewish_spirituality colleague Rabbi Miriam Margles, Zac Newman of @or_halev , Rabbi Sheila Peltz Weinberg, and Rabba Dr. Mira Neshama Niculescu. They comprise next week’s superb teaching lineup on the Institute for Jewish Spirituality Daily Sit, Monday 9/14 through Thursday 9/17.

And Friday, 9/18, I’ll lead “A Wave That Knows It’s Water,” our annual pre-Yom Kippur session in collaboration with the Shomer Collective, exploring the spiritual awareness that emerges from honestly acknolwedging our mortality, a key YK theme.

Join us for any of all of these FREE sessions, 12:30-1:15 pm ET, 9:30-10:15 am PT. The Daily Sit meets on Zoom; register for the link and reminders at https://www.jewishspirituality.org/get-started/free-resources-from-ijs/. They are also livestreamed on the IJS YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/c/InstituteforJewishSpirituality (recordings posted there as well).

Every day, we include a prayers for healing as well as an opportunity to recite the mourners’ kaddish.

For the past seven years, our Israel-based Regel Bakever (“One Foot in the Grave”) Tisha B’Av program has brought together thousands across the globe to reflect on mortality and humanity, reviving an important motif of Tisha B’Av.
For the second year in a row, we’re holding a dedicated English-language event!
Our featured lecturer this year is @thomashuebl , a world-renowned scholar, author, and teacher on intergenerational trauma who is currently a visiting scholar at Harvard. In particular, Hübl has brought together Germans and Israelis to process the legacy of the Holocaust and, more broadly, leads training groups on the most polarizing contemporary challenges.
This program is brought together by YCT’s Israeli program, Livyat Chen, in partnership with @appliedjewishspirituality and @or_halev .
