Ngl... This is the ONLY way I enjoy matcha now 😤

If you saw my last matcha hopping reel (aka my traumatic matcha experience), you'll know that things did not go well and I was put off matcha for a bit 🫣

So this time, I learnt my lesson. NO MORE HOPPING. Just a matcha run:
✨ One spot
✨ Good vibes
✨ Many friends to try the menu with
It's a much smarter move if you ask me 👭👫👭

And it worked! This is exactly what I needed to recover from the trauma from last time 😂

Chubby Cubby just dropped a new matcha menu and I AM LOVING IT 💖

The viral "secret menu" biscoff matcha isn't a secret anymore! If you haven't tried it, YOU NEED TO. The nutty sweetness with the matcha is such a good combo 🤤

I was also lowkey vibing with the orange juice matcha. Its super light and refreshing and just the right hit of citrus without being too sweet 🍊

And you know I COULDNT RESIST the new shokupan menu 🍞

The salmon and prawn shokupans were the real stars, but the yuzu lemon berries added a nice tart twist to the mix 🍓🫐

So if there's one takeaway here:
Once again, don't go matcha hopping. Just don't. 🙃

✨ ima Asa Yoru ✨

This Japanese brunch (or lunch) spot is immaculate. When we arrived during lunchtime, it was almost a full house. Each table has a tray of Japanese foods in teishoku-style. Since it’s the best seller, of course we have to order them!
Their grilled fish is their popular menu, and on that particular day they had Salmon (flown from New Zealand—I emphasized this part as how it was emphasized to me 😆). And that day they also have a special set menu where you can swap the fish for their Chicken Nanban. So we got two Japanese Breakfast Teishouku, one with grilled fish, the other Chicken Nanban.
The teishouku meal came with a bowl of rice, soup, pickles, and daily okaze (side dish). The fish was fresh, grilled perfectly cause it was so moist. The chicken nanban was so good, fried to golden, then paired with their delicious nanban sauce. Nanban is a tartar sauce so it was creamy with a hint of tang.

✨ Osoi ✨

Finally got to try the matcha at @osoi.brunswick ! Tried their Ichigo Matcha and I can safely say it’s one of the nicest Matcha I’ve had in Melbourne. It’s on the creamier side with a nice grassy note. Combined with the not-so-sweet and generous strawberry pulps, their Ichigo Matcha truly stood out. I also got the Besaid Matcha, which was a unique blend of Oolong Melon tea with Matcha, giving it a refreshing touch. The melon taste lingers in your mouth even after a while. I am frankly obsessed with the Plum Danish, which has a nice flaky texture and tasted really good with the plum compote.
P.S: it was also a nice spot to yap with @oracleeats
