Thank you to our wonderful audience who joined us for Grace at Aberdeen Art Gallery last night as part of DanceLive🙏🏻

It was a privilege and a pleasure to share the work with you in such a beautiful space. Your warmth, attention and generous response made it a special evening for us both.

Our heartfelt thanks to Simon and Kev from the #DanceLive production team, Hayley and all the citymovesdance team, and everyone at Aberdeen Art Gallery for your care and support.

And to Tiago, Gregor and Colin — thank you for everything you bring to Team Grace. Sharing these moments with you means so much.

With love and thanks,
Errol & Davina🙏🏻

White & Givan DANCERS CONNECTED | WEEK 3

This week, ideas have begun to take shape as Alex, Kim, Laura and Oran explore how their individual creative voices can come together through the world of Grace.

Through movement, conversation and shared discoveries, they’re finding new connections and possibilities for the ensemble. It’s exciting to see familiar material reimagined through their own experiences and the relationships growing between them.

Dancers Connected gives us time to explore what supports dancers’ creativity, wellbeing and sustainable working lives. Davina and I are learning alongside the dancers, and this week has given us plenty to carry forward.

A big thank you to all four for their energy, imagination and generosity. We’re looking forward to building on what’s emerging as we head into our final week together.

✨ Dancers Connected | Our Self-Led Week

What becomes possible when dancers have paid time, space and support to lead their practice, learn from one another and shape a sustainable working future in the places they call home?

This is the question at the heart of Dancers Connected and this week, the dancers are exploring it together.

Alex, Kim, Laura and Oran are taking the lead: sharing processes, exploring ideas and making collective choices, with Grace as a starting point for enquiry.

Leading here means opening up a process that everyone can contribute to. Each dancer brings knowledge and experience, and this week creates space for that expertise to be recognised, shared and developed.

Devised by White & Givan, Dancers Connected is exploring a place-based workforce model that puts dancers’ working lives at its centre. Paid employment, artistic agency and support to live and work in their communities are central to what we want to build.

The dancers’ choices and reflections during this self-led week will help shape the programme’s next stage.

Thank you, Alex, Kim, Laura and Oran, for your curiosity, generosity and commitment. Thank you also to our partners citymovesdance and academystreet_dance, to Creative Scotland for funding the programme, and to Colin Baird and Bill Taylor for their care and support.

We look forward to coming back together and seeing where your discoveries take us.

We thank everyone who helps us ensure the children have food, as this prevents them from returning to life on the streets and enables them all to attend school; may God bless you.

✨ Dancers Connected | Closing Our First Week!

Our final day together this week, and there is already so much to celebrate, growing trust, curiosity and the dancers beginning to take ownership of their practice and the programme.

At the heart of Dancers Connected is a belief that dancers need time, space, support and paid opportunities to develop, connect and build sustainable working lives. Their voices and experiences are helping shape what this can become.

Thank you, Alex, Kim, Laura and Oran, for your openness, commitment and everything you bring into the room. It’s a privilege to work alongside you.

Thank you to our partners Citymoves Dance Agency and Academy Street Studio in Aberdeen, to Creative Scotland for funding the programme, and to Colin Baird and Bill Taylor for your care, insight and support. We’re grateful to everyone helping this first stage take shape.

As we move into the self-led week, we look forward to seeing where the dancers’ ideas, choices and discoveries take them.
