For years the Moroccan Diaspora has had a major influence on music, sports, streetwear and youth culture in the Netherlands. To celebrate that impact, Maghreb Diaspora brought together Dutch-Moroccan talents @42marou @douniasoudi @karim22ss and @salmakarkouri styling them in the iconic Nike TN tracksuits, a staple of Maghreb street culture and photographed them at the iconic apartment from the Dutch-Moroccan teenage series Dunya & Desie. The series captured what it was like growing up as a teenager in the Netherlands, navigating life between two cultures. It became a cultural touchstone for Dutch-Moroccan youth and had a lasting impact on an entire generation. Introducing Dar De Diaspora: the House of the Diaspora, a creative house where the light of diaspora creatives shines bright. It’s time to flip the script, bring fresh perspectives, and change the narrative. After over two years of connecting with @maghrebdiaspora creatives, we’re beginning a new chapter—one that gives the original storytellers, creatives with diaspora roots, a place to thrive and bring the most authentic storytelling to brands. For too long, the creative industry has lacked true representation, failing to recognize that diaspora perspectives are part of the norm. Our creativity is the light from the Bled—the new wave. If we don’t value it, others will, and they’ll profit from it. Dar De Diaspora is here to ensure our light connects people, creating maximum engagement through the true art of storytelling.
