😮 The First time we have ever seen #HillsboroCityCouncil Candidate, Luis Garcia - Hmm.... Well he came and he took us all to school.

He spoke about Finland and Data Centers - they use #Heat and #Water from Data Centers- not news. We presented that concept two years ago- but, Ok!

But then the CLASS really started-
😮 "People keep talking about Farmland, but we really only have 3 CROPS..." #Grass #RedClover and ---uh...what is it? Oh...#WhiteWheat -

🚜 ALERT TO ALL FARMERS- You Only Have 3 Crops in #WashigtonCounty - if you are growing anything else, you are apparently not aware that we only grow these things - "Thank You For Your Attention To This Matter"

If you are considering who to vote for this Month for #HlillsboroCityCouncil I suggest we perhaps vote for someone that actually understands the value of our farms and farmers, big and small, that made Hillsboro the great place it is today. There are hundreds of not thousands of crops being grown here on the richest farmland in the world!

Luis seemed to want to talk about capturing heat from Data Centers and using it for greenhouses, and then slid in this comment which was designed to downgrade the value of our Farmland? For his first time at City Hall as far as I have seen- well...he just killed it!

Something special just hit the tap list at both locations..

Introducing — Cheers to the Land 🌾🍻

Every year we brew something new in collaboration with the Oregon Agricultural Trust to support their work with farmers and ranchers to protect Oregon farmland.

For this year’s version, we fittingly brewed a Filbert Stout. A roasty, rich table stout that features Oregon’s iconic state nut and pays homage to the history of our own farm — a once active filbert operation (soon to be replanted with innovative rootstock developed by the plant breeding program at OSU over the course of 20+ years.)

Come enjoy this delicious brew fireside on the farm or pair it with some BBQ at the W&P bar & music hall. 🤎

🚨 SHOWDOWN ON SEWELL AVENUE: HERE WE GO AGAIN! ANOTHER #HILLSBORO #DATACENTER

😢 This time it's a massive 547,239-square-foot data center campus is being proposed at 5420 NE Sewell Ave (Case File No. DR-012-26), and the design conflicts are burying the local code text.

🌳 From clear-cutting 85 protected Specimen Oregon White Oaks to erasing 88% of the on-site wetlands, a multi-billion-dollar developer CoreSite is pushing for a staff-level administrative approval under a Type II approval. But the math doesn’t add up.

😮 Blueprints show they are attempting a cash buyout to dodge a localized tree deficit, pushing uip against #significant natural rerourse areas, and stretching front yard setbacks to place a 92-foot near windowless concrete wall right opposite long-term family homes.

💯 The Hillsboro Herald along with the @tualatinriverkeepers , neighbors, and other groups, are stepping in to demand accountability, proposing a code-enforced Canopy Mitigation Transfer to plant those 849 missing trees directly on adjacent City-owned public lands.

📲 The full investigation, engineering maps, and details on road ahead are in the researched article at the #HillsboroHerald Click the link in our bio to read and share.
