We are grateful to see Strange Objects, New Solids & Massive Things (Actar) discussed in World-Architects. The review captures an important dimension of the work: that architectural projects emerge from the interplay between theory, technology, and material experimentation.

As the article notes, references to thinkers such as Edmund Husserl, Jane Bennett, and Edmund Burke may seem abstract at first, yet they are integral to the design process itself—just as much as the computational tools, fabrication techniques, and formal explorations presented in the projects.

For us, theory is not an afterthought or external commentary. It is part of the architectural instrumentarium—working alongside software, material research, and making—to shape how objects, matter, and spatial experience are conceived.

Thank you to World-Architects for the thoughtful reading of the book.

We received a special delivery today.

My mum had been writing a book with a few of her colleagues when she got very sick. She finished her draft before she passed away, but it took another two years of editing, design, fundraising, and coordination between continents to prepare it for publication.

And now it is finally here, in print. A lasting reminder of Mum’s voice and spirit that we miss so much—she’s here in these pages.

Congratulations to my friends @helenaarong @tonyyyjc and @mkangk for this beautiful accomplishment. If you would like to feature me in your next book, I am available (but please know that I am very particular about my headshots…)

We are happy to share that Aybars Asci’s book “Designing for Empathy: The Architecture of Connections in Learning Environments” is published! ⁣
⁣
The book explores the deep, inextricable relationship between developmental psychology and our physical environment. By connecting perspective taking in psychology to perspectival space in architecture, the book defines the geometry of empathy and it postulates that the forces that operate in our spatial cognition can also shift perspectives, thereby helping us develop empathy.⁣
⁣
The book is available for purchase through the link in our bio, and stay tuned for info on upcoming events!⁣
