Every pattern has a hidden equation.

Part of Carpetdiem Experiments, Orkhan Mammadov’s @orkhan.art Chladni transforms mathematics into a visual language inspired by one of science’s most mesmerising phenomena. Chladni figures are the intricate patterns that appear when sand settles on a vibrating metal plate—making sound visible through geometry. What begins as vibration becomes order.

Across this series, Mammadov explores how mathematical algorithms can generate forms that echo the rhythm, complexity, and ornament of traditional carpet weaving. By bringing code into dialogue with one of humanity’s oldest crafts, Carpetdiem Experiments reveals a surprising harmony between technology, mathematics, and cultural heritage.

Conversations with Nature’s Memory, 2026
by @orkhan.art

Site-specific dual-screen generative installation with AI and sound.

Created for AS ABOVE, SO BELOW by One Ocean Foundation and ZEITGEIST19.

Conversations with Nature’s Memory stages a quiet encounter with systems that sustain life without spectacle. Two simulated ecosystems unfold simultaneously—one above soil and one below—each rendered through a distinct visual language, yet both driven by a shared mycelium-inspired logic of growth, branching, fusion, decay, and redistribution. The seam between the screens functions as the soil line: a boundary that is also a site of exchange. Within this system, nutrient flow becomes the work’s central language. Transfers of energy and material reshape pathways, strengthen corridors, and redirect growth, making visible a continuous relation between what lies above and what remains hidden below. Mammadov frames this circulation as a form of conversation—not as literal dialogue, but as mutual adjustment, responsiveness, and support across interdependent environments. An AI observes these exchanges and translates them into shifting textual fragments, forming an evolving
register of care, seasons, and memory.

AS ABOVE, SO BELOW is now discoverable on @particle____

Created by @oneoceanfound in collaboration with @ZEITGEIST19 — part of the Particle Creators ecosystem — the project extends beyond the exhibition space through an audio thematic route that guides visitors across the artworks and the layered connections between artistic practices, memory, and planetary transformation.

Starting from the idea of the ocean as an archive, an atmosphere, and a living system, the route invites visitors to dive deeper into individual artworks and navigate the project at their own pace — before, during, and after the physical visit.

AS ABOVE, SO BELOW è ora disponibile su Particle!
