Where did your prosthetics take you today?☀️🦿
Real winter conditions this weekend.
Great to be out despite the rain, and a lovely sunny day later on.
Got totally soaked for the last approx 10KM of the ride, fortunately my Ossur Navii Knee and Terra Foot prosthetics are 100% waterproof, so nothing to worry about - simply focus on the fun and nature. No distractions, nothing to stop the excursions. Less planning, more doing. 🦾

Strength-Mobility-Movement

I find myself in the gym more often now days. Focusing on getting my body as strong and functional as possible. It’s been quite a journey learning what works for me now being an amputee.

The build up to CCC has been one heck of a roller coaster but the one constant has been my strength work🙏 a big thank you to my team @movewellza and @velocitygymhilton for providing such a sick program and workspace for me to get the job done🫡 FYI, Bryce (my UTMB guide and my biokineticist ) has been working on my broken body for over 15 years now. Thanks my boy🙏

And there she is!! @readyrenniego finishes the 2025 @capeepic.

Rentia took on stage 7 solo(blue board rider), riding for Team @zimelenpc, after her teammate Jackie was unable to continue.

She demonstrated an incredibly positive attitude, loads of gratitude, throughout the event and it was a phenomenal to witness- giving us all a true masterclass in dedication to overcoming adversity!!

Stage 4 of the 2025 Cape Epic saw Team @rejuvenate.sa and @zimelenpc bounce back strong after Wednesday’s brutal heat. The 80km route with 1950m of elevation delivered plenty of rewarding singletrack, cooler overcast conditions, and even some rain to lift the spirits. With confidence restored and energy high, they’re ready to take on Stage 5 today.

Reuben van Niekerk and Dane Wilson are taking on the @capeepic to prove that with determination, preparation, and the right support, anything is possible.

- 17 years as an amputee, Reuben continues to push boundaries, inspiring others to pursue their passions. As a motor journalist and competitive cyclist, he knows firsthand how powerful representation can be.

- Dane, a Rio Paralympian, understands the physical demands of endurance cycling, especially the impact on residual limbs. His experience allows him to mentor young amputees, showing them that no goal is out of reach.

They’re not just riding for themselves—they’re riding to inspire the next generation of Jumping Kids. Through their journey, they aim to break stereotypes, create awareness, and encourage corporates to invest in a future where no child is left behind.

For Rentia Retief, taking on the @capeepic is proof that adversity doesn’t define ability.

Two years ago, Rentia lost her leg in a cycling accident. Many would have given up, but for her, the love for cycling never faded. She believes her joy of being active has to be bigger than the trauma.
