Looking back at last year’s selfies has me so excited to reconnect with my peeps in the “OT Spider-Verse” 😂🕸️ (Marvel pun🫣🥁 lol).

Some of my favorite professors, including Dr. Lawrence; American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) President Dr. Arameh Anvarizadeh; my fellow Class of 2026 friends—from my cohort and beyond; and Occupational Therapy Association of California (OTAC) President Dr. Samia Rafeedie. These connections have grown into friendships that mean so much to me.

Spaces like this remind me of the mission, the community, and why I chose occupational therapy. With OTAC coming up soon, I’m so excited to be back together! ❤️

See you at OTAC! I am happy to announce that I will be presenting at this year’s 50th OTAC Annual Conference & Innovation Expo in Pasadena, November 5–8!

Session 65: I will be presenting alongside Dr. Shanpin Fanchiang, PhD, OTR/L, Lauren Rohrs, OTS, and Andrea Botello, OTS, on how occupational therapy practitioners can take an active approach to supporting our clients through the use of smart home technology.

Poster Presentation: I am so excited to present my doctoral capstone project alongside my site mentor, Amy Zhao, OTR/L, on the role of OT in a community-based fatherhood program, representing @childrensinstitutela Project Fatherhood.

As we approach the end of Hispanic Heritage Month, we want to thank everyone who has shared their experiences, words of wisdom, as well as their journey into occupational therapy. We see you and we are grateful you are part of this OT family. We recognize the passion and dedication you have poured into this field, and how your cultura continues to strengthen the fabric of the occupational therapy profession.

Today’s message from fellow occupational therapy practitioners and students continue to inspire us, and their words are a reminder of how our cultural identities and experiences are needed within occupational therapy. Let’s keep showing up as our authentic selves and creating spaces where others can do the same.

This week, OTAC Region 2 members came together for an evening of connection, conversation, and fun! 💜

Our OT practitioners and students put their visual scanning and visual motor skills to the test with Virtual OT BINGO, shared their favorite meaningful occupations, and exchanged ideas about what they’d love to see from Region 2 and OTAC in the future. ✨

Now, we’re looking forward to connecting with even more OTAC members from Regions 1–5 at the 2026 OTAC Annual Conference and 50th Birthday Celebration, November 5–8! 🎂

Where is Dr. A? 👀✈️

It always seems to be busy, but as we transition into fall, life feels fuller than ever! From teaching to keynotes and conferences, OT advocacy, daily AOTA Board business, ad hoc committee work—and that’s not even the half of it. 😂

Through it all, what I’m looking forward to most is being in community with OT practitioners, students, educators, and leaders across the country. I am excited to dialogue together and, more importantly, engage one another in how we continue to move our profession forward.

So, “Where is Dr. A?” is an invitation into the conversations shaping what comes next — our challenges, wins, initiatives, priorities, and the work ahead to strengthen our association, engage our membership, and advance our profession.

Looking forward to seeing you if you’re nearby! 🫶🏽
