We spoke with Mel, owner of Other Lands Brewery, which specializes in lagers, specialty coffee, kombucha, and more. For its lagers, the brewery uses a traditional German technique called “decoction,” which involves boiling the grains. Mel says it adds warmth to the beer’s flavor, and the quality of Greenville Water’s tap water lets that flavor shine through. It’s one of the reasons he loves brewing in Greenville.
