One of our favorite dishes from May
Matsukasa yaki (pinecone grilling)
Hot oil is poured onto the skin of the tilefish, lifting the scales to make a pinecone like texture then gently grilled over charcoal to finish.

Behind the scenes planning for our very first “A Family Affair” 🥂 tasting 2006 - 2018 and a “farm-to-plan for our table” visit with our friends at @theground.love

It was a true Family Affair at Winderlea last weekend!

What an amazing afternoon shared with our Wine Society members exploring rarely opened library wines, meeting the Ricci family, and celebrating this new chapter at Winderlea.

Guests chose their own path upstairs and down, discovered bottles from 2007 - 2018 (including a rare 2010 horizontal from Shea, Meredith Mitchell, and Crawford Beck), sharing stories around the @thaancharcoal grill on the balcony and even finding a secret sushi chef in the basement thanks to @hiyaku_pdx

The incredible @danny_pecorino transformed beautiful ingredients from @theground.love into seasonal pairings that somehow made the wines shine even brighter.

It was a day full of familiar faces, new energy, and bottles rarely opened.

We have a feeling this might become a tradition 😉

Wine Society members who weren’t able to join … we saved a little something for you, just keep an eye on your inbox. 🥂
