Summer Ruffle Skirt - this is my latest project and hopefully the first of many summer pieces. I really love this pattern as it has so much volume and some decorative pin tucks on each tear, the pattern is from @thisiskachi. The fabric for this skirt is yet again from @sewingstudiobath and gives the perfect fluidity to the gathers. Thank you @ottaviamazzoni for taking these photos.

This is my new staple black corduroy dress. I made the pattern from scratch and was inspired my the very classic 60s minidress. The fabric is a black baby cord from @sewingstudiobath. Thank you @ottaviamazzoni for taking the photos.

Rolling into a new week.

Back open tomorrow, Wednesday 18:00. As usual our first morning room service will be Thursday 9-11AM then lunch served from 12PM.

Christmas week we’re bringing everything one day forward. Meaning, we’ll be open for our first ever Tuesday dinner service (21st) and, therefore, our first morning service from Wednesday 22nd.

I had plenty to do indoors but the sunshine pulled me out…..Here’s the things I found on my travels through town…
Plastic flowers, Ottavia at the Italian Deli, she let me photograph her, So good to see her….a welcoming pink door! half open half closed shops and finally the palm trees near home, always excitingly strange to see them in Bath x #photography #walk #covid #sunnyday #emmaseal #incrediblyhumanphotography

I can barely bring myself to cook these stunning “Badda” beans that I brought back from Sicily last month. Each bean looks like a tiny orca and I’m sure that, rather like gloriously speckled borlotti, these will lose all their distinctive markings as I cook them. The beans are an ancient variety grown up in the mountains near Palermo, heralded and preserved by The Slow Food Movement. I’m going to use them for salad and also perhaps some pasta e fagioli since the weather has turned a bit cooler.

The Sicilian haul: Desimone pasta bowls, box of almond and fig pastries, pasta ( I know you can buy @dececco_pasta in England - but these teeny- weeny hearts for adding to soups are so ridiculously twee I had to have them) and Sicilian wheat tubetti, a shoal of ceramic sardines, a green lemon ( the type used for Limoncello), NO limoncello, sundried tomatoes, leftover Lavazza coffee, extra virgin olive oil, bright green pistachio nibbs, capers, painted bottle stoppers, dried spaghettata herb mix, plums, mini pears and the highlight - most excitingly my two- tone fagioli Badda -an heirloom bean variety celebrated by @slow_food_italia. And yes, I did have to pay for hold baggage on the return journey, I always do. As my travelling companion Anna put it - I’m not needy, I’m “want-y”; certainly the case when it comes to anything to do with food.
Thank you @ottaviamazzoni for the bean tip off! .
