☕️Coffee Roastery
🥯Proudly fueling Jeff’s Bagel Run

☕️ The story behind our beans:

In 2017, Glen and Jaclyn Turchin started roasting at home in 2017 with a single 1-kilo machine and the conviction that the bean, the sourcing, and the roast profile all matter.

They lived three doors down from Jeff and Danielle, though the couples didn’t know each other yet. Then Jaclyn spotted a new pin on Google Maps: an at-home bagel shop, right down the street. Bagels and coffee belong together. She told Glen to reach out, and the rest is history 🥯🤝☕️

The Jeff’s Coffee Run blend was built together before Jeff’s Bagel Run had a second location. The coffee program grew store by store: cold brew at the first shop, espresso unlocked at store three, and specialty lattes created for every holiday.

Every coffee you sip on at the Bagel Run is created with beans that were proudly roasted by our besties at @otuscoffee!

Grab a free hot or iced coffee on us tomorrow, 9/29, as we celebrate National Coffee Day!

Only available for in-store orders. Don’t sleep in!

I guess I’ll take the bandaid off first: As of early July, I am no longer an active participant in the operation of Yellow Rooster Coffee Imports.

The dream of many aspiring coffee-professional lifers is to arrive to a place where they’re a decision maker, having a seat at the table where choices are being made on lot selections, purchases and imports, which is inextricably related to how money moves and communities are impacted. While with Eastlick Coffee I’ve been making those decisions since 2015, the chance to multiply that impact and tell the stories of dozens of more producers to a much larger audience was an opportunity I relished and began to develop with a small group of business partners in 2018. That project eventually came to be called Yellow Rooster.

I began Yellow Rooster at a time in my life when I was a barista and small-batch, boutique coffee roaster. I didn’t study business. I had no formal training in international relations. Most of what I know about inflation, interest rates, currency exchange and commodity trading came as on-the-job experience, learning along the way that much of what the “Specialty Coffee” industry was selling in the early twenty teens was, at best, an overly simplistic and idealistic view of the coffee trade; a product of its time as the Obama “Hope” years reached their apex.

Working in coffee has been a wake-up call. I’ve experienced hurt by folks both near and far in the industry. I’ve seen customers go out of business with bills left unpaid. I’ve seen roasters backtrack on promises. I’ve seen farmers say one thing and do another. I myself have probably been the cause of others’ disappointment, although my intentions were always honest and true. But somehow, it all kept marching on. We all kept drinking the black gold, certain that something better was around the corner. Ultimately, I am extremely proud of everything Yellow Rooster accomplished during my tenure, and I feel like I’m walking away from it all with a university-level degree in economics, psychology, communication and more. The Iced Cinnamon Vanilla Latte isn’t just our most popular drink — it’s part of the Jeff’s Bagel Run story. 🥯💙🦉

We’ve been serving this fan favorite since the early days, back when it was crafted as a cold brew before we launched our espresso program in 2024. (And yes… you can still order the OG cold brew version 😉)

Smooth. Sweet. Perfectly spiced.

It’s become a signature sip and a symbol of the care we put into every cup.

Have you tried one yet? ☕️✨
