Seriously, ask my cute niece @our.big.backyard for all the Alaska deets and tips. 💪 We had a blast visiting her and teasing her kiddos.

As a military family, the Bairds go wherever they are called. In this weeks episode, Ashlee shares about some of the treasures she has found while stationed in Alaska. This is a family that truly makes the best out of every situation and I can’t wait to share this episode with you, so you can plan your trip to Alaska. Is Alaska on your bucket list?

Ashlee Baird grew up in Utah where she met her husband. She is the mother to three kids between the ages of 9 and 2. She is a homeschooling SAHM as well as a wedding and event floral designer. This explains perfectly the Bairds: We're a military family, which means we get told where to live. We learned early on that every duty station is what we make it, and with this mindset, we are determined to make the most out of each place we live. We make it our mission to try all the quirky, unique-to-the-area activities everywhere we go. We've genuinely loved every place we've lived by being curious and trying new things.
The Bairds moved to Fairbanks Alaska in 2019 and share on both their instagram and website all about Alaska

What's your name and Instagram?
✨Ashlee Baird @Our.Big.Backyard

Tell us a little bit about yourself
✨I’m a military spouse, a stay at home mom of 3 young kids, and I’m always looking for my next adventure. I have a love for exploring and experiencing things off the beaten path. While traveling is exciting, we also like to show people that adventures don’t have to be grand and can be experienced right where you live. Being a military spouse, we don’t get a lot of say in where we live and I just enjoy showing people that there are cool things everywhere!

What do you offer on plan with travel?
✨We offer one-on-one travel planning from our current home base in North Pole, Alaska. We will be adding itineraries as well, but you can also contact us for a custom signed post card signed by Santa Claus himself

What is your favorite place to visit in Alaska & why?
✨We’ve seen some amazing areas around Alaska but for some reason, Palmer keeps us coming back! It’s such a quaint town but offers so much and we love exploring new places every time we’re in the area. Plus, I think the reindeer farm there might be the best place on earth…I mean, you can beat playing with baby reindeer.

Why do you travel? What do you get out of it?
✨I am a firm believer that experiences are worth more than things. I love learning about our world and other cultures and history and the best way to learn is through experiencing it!

What is your preferred way to travel (Roadtrip, plane, etc)?
✨Honestly, I’ll take it all! I love finding local adventures that just help me appreciate where I live. I love road trips and finding all the best places to stop and see between point A and Point B. And I love big adventures every once in awhile that include flying to a new place

Who do you travel with?
✨ I love traveling with my family. My kids are young and I’m taking advantage of the fact that we all like to be with each other still ;) haha no, but I grew up traveling with my family and I love being able to give my kids those experiences that make them curious about the world just like I am.

Where are you headed next?
