☀️ THE SUN CAME OUT—AND SO DID NEWBURGH! 💚🌊
What a beautiful day at Quassaick Creekfest at Crystal Lake!
The morning may have started with a little rain, but it didn’t stop our community from showing up. By afternoon, the sunshine broke through and Crystal Lake was filled with families, laughter, music, dancing, learning, exploration, and so much joy. Thank you to @jrblast007 Hector Sabillon for an amazing capture of the day! 📷👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎬
These are the moments that remind us what Creekfest is really about: community coming together around our shared land and water and having a whole lot of fun while doing it.
On behalf of the entire Newburgh Sanctuary team, THANK YOU to every partner, volunteer, artist, environmental educator, youth leader, neighbor, family, and community member who helped bring this day to life. Your dedication to our environment and to Newburgh made this celebration possible.
🎥 And we’re not done sharing the joy! Hector Sabillon @jrblast007, a new friend of the Sanctuary, captured a beautiful glimpse of the day, and a longer Creekfest video featuring community interviews is on the way.
Until then, we’re still carrying the sunshine and positive energy from an unforgettable day at Crystal Lake. 💚
Thank you, Newburgh. This is what community looks like.

Quassaick Creekfest isn’t only about understanding our environment today—it’s also about investing in the people who will care for it tomorrow. 🌱

We’re excited to have the Greater Newburgh Parks Conservancy EJ Fellows Program joining us at Crystal Lake and supporting the day’s environmental activities.

Through hands-on experiences like Creekfest, young people can build knowledge, leadership, and a deeper relationship with Newburgh’s parks and natural resources.

You can be part of the day, too! 🙌 We’re looking for volunteers to help welcome our community, support activities, and make Creekfest a beautiful experience for everyone. Volunteer link in bio.

Come meet some of the young people helping shape a greener future for Newburgh—and lend a hand alongside them.

You’ll have an opportunity to explore the creative process of monoprinting where you apply paint to a flexible gelatin plate, create patterns from nature, and transfer the design directly onto clothing. Bring your own shirt or bag to create art!
Come make something inspired by nature and take a little piece of Creekfest creativity home with you.
