What a trail. 🌿
One farm, one day and one night, a selected few.
Lunch from food grown right here (except the pao and poee 😜). A dog led us down to the river. We learned how feni is made, the Ouro way, at the copper still. A swim in a pool with no chlorine, just green. Then the maestro himself, Elvis Lobo, back after a long break, playing just for us under the open sky. Barbecue, Ouro feni cocktails, glowing scorpions and a waxing moon over the trees. Breakfast, and the road home.
Thank you to everyone who came along, to Dudhsagar Plantation for the land and Ouro De Goa for the feni.

Art is personal, it has to be.
This gig was more than personal for me with my accident and a halt on life and music.

This Elvis Presely tribute was with artist i love most Elvis Lobo 🙏, the venue I love most Silva Heritage and Sherwin 🙏. The love Sherwin has for music is amazing and i really respect the Freedom he gives to people like us to promote good music, much love bruh 🙏.

This gig was very very special. Little trivia, The gig was named All shook up because i was shook up because of accident.

Thanks so much for coming and making it a gig to remember 🙏.

Distillation is the process of separating alcohol from a fermented liquid using heat. As the alcohol vapours rise, they’re collected and condensed back into liquid, concentrating both alcohol and flavour.

When we think of traditional distillation, spirits like Tequila and Mezcal often come to mind. Their character is shaped through batch distillation in copper pot stills a method prized for creating spirits with depth, texture and a true sense of place. Technically, copper plays an important role too. It reacts with unwanted sulphur compounds formed during fermentation, reducing off-aromas while preserving the congeners responsible for flavour and complexity. Unlike continuous column distillation, pot still distillation allows greater retention of these character-defining compounds, which is why many artisanal spirits continue to rely on it.

India, too, has a long history of pot still distillation. While many traditional methods have gradually disappeared with industrialisation, some producers continue to preserve these practices. At Ouro Feni in Goa, fermented cashew apple juice is distilled using traditional copper pot stills sealed with a mixture of local termite hill clay and sand to minimise vapour loss during distillation preserving an artisanal approach to crafting Goa’s iconic Feni.
