A peak into the recording sessions of #whalefall. A film about being swallowed by a whale turns into so much more. So honored to have been supported by over 100 of LA’s finest musicians and singers, as well as the incredible filmmakers.

OOPS😅 While we recorded @whalefallmovie music by @joecomposer I rehearsed this section so well with @ourtonality …

To then realize the score was about 2.5 times FASTER than I rehearsed.

Thank you to the singers who professionally adjusted and waited so patiently to laugh with me 🤡

Songs of Remembering features Tonality and Wild Up with Angel Blue, Jamal M. Moore, and Ogi. The centerpiece, Running From, Running To, honors Ahmaud Arbery, a young Black man whose 2020 killing while jogging sparked national outcry. With new arrangements of Poor Wayfaring Stranger and the world-premiere recording of Deep River, the album calls for justice, healing, and resilience through song.

Last night, we had the honor of celebrating @ourtonality at their 2026 Benefit Gala at @ebellofla, where Public Counsel was presented with the 2026 Foundation Award ✨

In 2018, our pro bono legal support helped Tonality establish the organizational foundation needed to grow. Two Grammys later, it’s incredibly special to see all they’ve built through the power of music, community, and social change.

Had the privilege to experience this wonderful choral piece last night. “Running From, Running To: A Musical Reflection on Ahmaud Arbery” written by Dr. Alexander Lloyd Blake. The closing movement gave me goosebumps several times and the emotion captured by soloist Angel Blue had me in tears. Bravo @ourtonality
