Point Reyes NS part VI

As the golden sun set over the horizon, Daniel and I decided to head up the side of the rock face that was accessible to climb thanks to a rope that was left there and anchored by the rock. We got up to the point where we could see the feeder waterfalls to Alamere Falls, known as falls 2, 3, 4, and so on. We stood there and admired the view between us, the 75 foot cliff, and the ocean.

As much time as we wanted to spend enjoying the many waters of this place, we had to get going as nightfall was setting upon us and we had at least 4 miles to our camp fall destination. Things get much more interesting when the dark settles upon you❗️

February 27, 2023 - Snow Diablo

Do you guys remember that strange time in Bay Area history when Mount Diablo was full of snow? The winter of 2023 was most incredible, but I think the pinnacle of this indubitable winter was watching the snow fall on top of the Bay Area’s Premier mountain. I got a day off and I absolutely had to go see it for myself❕

As I was beginning this hike, I got alerts of thunderstorms that were in the area. Definitely not what you want to hear when you were hiking in the snow for the first time. I made sure I wore tons of clothing, a few beanies, my boots, and even had to cover for my backpack. As I begin my ascent, it began to rain heavily. It felt like I was in a cold shower. At that point I could have turned around because the rain was so bad but there was no way I was going to miss the summit of Mount Diablo in snow. Or so I thought…

January 26, 2023 - Anniversary Hike

Part III

The Saga continues…

As we continued along the trail, the mushrooms that I began to see were shrooms I have never seen in this park before! The turkey tails were blooming in a way that was astronomical, but I have never seen a round head here before, as pictured in the later shots.

The round heads are a most beautiful mushroom, part of the Agaric family. A warning. Def would not eat these, as I wasn’t able to get an exact research grade ID on these bad boys. Def would take many pictures of these, they are too beautiful not too!! I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed seeing them in person‼️

October 18, 2022 - Queen City part IV

This trail was so intertwining. Watch the videos and you will see why.

This was proven in the urban landscape mixed in with the natural beauty of the greenway. As I continued down the Mallard Creek Greenway, I took note of the bridges overhead that connected the city together. To be able to create a city park paradise of this nature took lots of planning.

Also, this was the hike that got me to 400 miles. I was stoked!! Thankful for the ability to hike to this goal I set heart 11 months ago‼️

Big shoutout to @mecklenburgcounty for creating such an amazing park❗️

August 1st, 2022 - Mammoth Lakes

Ladies and Gentlemen, I introduce to you, The Lake of Criminals, Convict Lake❕

There is a ton of history to be learned about this place, none of which I will expound upon here, I’ll leave the study part up to you. As for me, I just wanted to see the beautiful scenery of a Lake I have wanted to see for months!!!

This was the last place that we stopped at on our way back to the Bay Area, and as a final destination, Convict Lake did not disappoint with its climatic views of the mountains above, and the deep blue water below. There is a trail that you can do that goes all around the lake, I hope to be able to complete this trail one day and enjoy the scenery that at one point in time a band of criminals hid out in anticipation for their final battle against the rule of law.

Spoiler alert, the law won.
