The scenic treatment.

After construction, Rochelle and Krista developed layered scenic washes to pull more depth and drama from the brick texture without losing the painterly quality of the surface. Using a combination of traditional grid enlargement techniques and digital projection, Veronica then traced and scaled the mural artwork by hand directly onto the wall before locking it in with paint.

Old techniques still work for a reason.

I had the sheer joy of working on this exciting project upstate turning a regular estate into the X-Men97 Mansion for Marvel & Airbnb.
I have been a avid fan of the X-Men for nearly 40 years since 1985, when i bought my first issue, #200, the Trail of Magneto! I took a long hiatus from collecting comics, but I still have a fondness for them that no other hobby can replace.
So when I was referred to the project by my colleague @mike_wres, I jumped on the opportunity and did 3 weeks of scenic work with an amazing group of talented artists.
props to the awesome cojo/benark/verb crews

Our second #camera #test for the #daydream #sequences in @thebigchop_film. I’m still heavily leaning towards this brick background as opposed to the fabric background 🤔

What do you guys think?

Footage from our first camera test of the #daydream #sequences in @thebigchop_film

At first I was about 95% sure I would not be using this background for the actual shoot but seeing it again, now I’m only about 50% sure I won’t be using it 🤔

Can we get a little commotion for the incredible prop created by our prop master from @overkillpropsnyc 😍
