The bite was hot for a good bit this morning. The last 3 hours of incoming. Nobody had fleas or fids so live shrimp from @staugpaddlesports and @fishbites got the job done. Used my @overthebar_rods The 10, 12 & 13 footers... amazing rods! Not quite a limit but my daughter and I will be eating pretty good 😁

Huge thank you to Mark Burford, owner of Over the Bar Rods, for getting me set up for surf season! 🎣

I’ve got the 9’, 10’, 12’, and 13’ rod, and I’m extremely excited to put them to work just as the surf temps start cooling down. They’re extremely beautiful rods and feel great to hold. I even got me a rig bag for all my hand-tied rigs, so I can grab what I need without digging through a tangled mess. 🙌

I’m officially set for some surf fishing! Now comes the fun part: figuring out which reels to pair with each rod. What would y’all put on them? 👀

Yesterday I had the privilege of taken out the Lindsay family for a morning session. The bite wasnt hot, but when they did bite. The were good ones.

Holt, who is 10, was able to reel in a big ol' lady who was dancing on the water for us. He caught the only whiting of the day and it was a 16"!! They brought some taco meat.

When the bonnethead hooked up it was bending the OTB12, and Holt said "I dont wanna do that one" so Christian Mansfield was able to reel it in. He did well!!

We managed to catch 6 or 7 Blue runners, Jack, big ol bonnethead, Lady fish.
The day was beautiful with flat water and minimal wave action. Water temps were 82°.

We used Fishbites and sometimes we tipped em.

Thank you to the people that make this possible!

❗️Sponsor Spotlight - Florida Surf Tackle❗️

Scan the beaches of Northeast Florida and you’ll quickly see Over The Bar Rods on the surf as these products from Florida Surf Tackle have become a surf fisherman’s favorite.

We’ve had a few run-ins over the year’s with owner Mark Burford, who on multiple occasions gifted Kids Can Fish an OTB with his personal message of, “Do something good for the charity with these.”

Well, Mark is at it again and this year as an official sponsor of the Running of the Bulls.

You’ll want to keep your eyes open at the 2026 Running of the Bulls Charity Surf Redfish Tournament Welcome Party because a few anglers will have a new weapon to fish with over the tournament weekend.

Thanks Mark for your continued support, it truly means a lot to us.

Repeat clients are the greatest compliment. 🤙🏼

We had the lines in the water by 7:00 AM. The morning started with a few baby whiting, which quickly became fresh shark bait... then the waiting game began.

BOOM! 💥

That OTB 13' doubled over, and the Penn Spinfisher 8500 started screaming! Zach stayed calm, listened to every bit of coaching, and with Christian and me guiding him every step of the way, he landed an incredible 61" female Blacktip Shark (52" to the fork). Tagged and released healthy!!

Those are the moments that create memories for a lifetime.

As the trip was winding down, the OTB 12' pompano rod started dancing!

BAM! 🎣

Nicholas brought an 11½" Pompano to the beach, and that one went straight on ice for dinner.

Sunrise, screaming drags, a Blacktip, a keeper Pompano, and another unforgettable day on the sand.

Thank you both for continuing to trust Reel Healin Outdoors. Your support means the world.

See y'all Friday for 3rd round!

Always pleasure running into other framily members of the @Fishbites Crew!!

One Love • No Divide • Just Vibes 🤙🏼🎣

Beautiful day out in the Lords creation. Something about sunrise just hits different, and especially when the fish are biting. Managed to catch 3 keeper pompano in about 10 minutes, and then nothing for the next three hours before I headed home. I did almost get a HUGE drum, but he snagged and broke my line before i could get him in. All three pompano were caught on FishGum, best artificial bait out there, especially when paired with my secret seasoning. Over The Bar 13s Using The Sinker Guy mortician rigs and 5 ounce Sputniks. Thank you Florida Holy Waters and The Sinker Guy for teaching me the secrets of surf fishing, super excited for the tournament this weekend, can’t wait to fish in my first tournament!
