HEAR ME | Photography Exhibition

What makes you happy?

For young people from three special education schools in Namibia, this question became the starting point for a photography project that resulted in 510 photographs and, ultimately, 42 selected images.

Organised by OYO, the project brought together learners from the National Institute for Special Education (NISE) in Windhoek, Eluwa Special School in Ongwediva and Usko Nghaama Special School in Eenhana.

Through their photographs, the young participants share their perspectives on happiness, family, friendship and everyday life. HEAR ME is an invitation to look beyond preconceived ideas about disability and recognise the experiences that connect us all.

In partnership with the Embassy of Finland, the exhibition opens at FNCC on Tuesday, 10 November, in the presence of H.E. Katja Kalamäki, Ambassador of Finland to Namibia.

Official opening: Tuesday, 10 November | 18:00
Exhibition: 11-26 November
Closing: Friday, 27 November
Venue: FNCC Gallery (118 Robert Mugabe Avenue)
Entrance: Free

🎬Guess who made a cameo appearance in the award-winning film LUKAS?

I’ve always wanted to play a lawyer… but unfortunately, before I could win the case, the docket mysteriously went missing! ⚖️

On a serious note, LUKAS is a powerful story that follows the journey of a young man forced onto the streets because of difficult circumstances at home.

It shines a light on a growing reality in our Namibian society and challenges us to look beyond the label of “street children” and see the human stories behind them.

I will always say YES to productions that create awareness, spark conversation, and leave a lasting impact.
📺 LUKAS is now available on YouTube. Go watch, support, and be part of the conversation.
