A celebration of another birthday and my first full year in San Diego!

I moved here chasing what I thought was the greatest opportunity of my life. I was dead wrong.

Within months I found myself lost, alone, and starting over. No friends, no family nearby, no money, no job, no real sense of purpose. I entered one of the darkest periods of my life. But somewhere in that darkness I made a bet on myself that I could figure it out.

One year later, I’ve built relationships I never could have imagined, found real community and fellowship through church, and started and scaled a business beyond anything I thought possible at this point in my life.

I’m grateful for every hard moment that got me here, and for every person who has walked alongside me this past year.

Here’s to another year of betting on myself.

If your shoulder rises when you row, your lat isn’t doing anything.

One cue fixes it: pack your shoulder down before you pull. Elbow drives to the hip, not your hand to your shoulder.
