Paramita holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University, where P was a recipient of the Waletzky Fellowship. Paramita’s debut novel APPETITE — named one of 2026's most anticipated title by Debutiful and Electric Literature — has been described by Booklist as "gorgeous, hilarious, and deeply relatable." (Otherwise, her bookjoy excellence is darn hard to measure up to, though we will all keep trying!) You may know that our bookspace birthday was this summer, and the special gift to staff was this New Haven author t-shirt, which - based on your requests - we have decided to make available to you all! And we want you know why we originally chose to make THIS shirt as the special gift to our MVPs? Chiefly, because the relationship between booksellers and bookspaces and authors is a sacred one. These New Haven authors have shown up for us from jump and repeatedly. So many bookish conversations, events, hugs, and laughs… and so much support. These folks have extended time, generosity, and grace. We’ve watched them engage people, young people especially, with such sincerity, love and care. We are grateful to EVERY author that has blessed our bookspace (and yes, we have a CT bookjoy icons tshirt coming soon; so stay tuned!), annnd we proudly hold a special place in our hearts for our hometown heroes, whether they’re listed on this first tshirt or on a future version… These are the good folks who read and write and live and pay taxes and organize and support public schools and public libraries and each other (just look how many photos show authors at each other’s events) and contribute to community here in our sweet city… Ask at the register about these tshirts! ✨ This week i finally finished reading "Appetite" by @padya307 . When i found out it was written by the Bangladeshi author i had to have it. Trust me one of the best reads I have done in a month. I loved how Zarina overcame her slumps and finally wins in life, how she puts the Bangladeshi food on the map with her plans. How she found her safe space among the chaos. It was well written specially loved the grant proposal part, Bangladeshi hint like load shedding, foods, misti etc. Also she mentioned BTS OMG 😱. When @bookwormbangladesh put a post about this book, which i wanted to buy the moment it hit Bangladesh, i could not wait longer i went and bought it. To my surprise it came with the author's signatures. I was so elated to beam. Finally i want to say dear author i enjoyed your book to the fullest. One of the 5 star reading so far.

The end of an era. 5 years going to games, 3 with season tickets. I met so many players (legends and the future!) & made amazing friends in the Sun community. I went from barely knowing anything about basketball to screaming at my tv or the area on a weekly basis. Won court-side seats for free and lost my mind. Got to talk to journalists and commentators. Made a fool of myself getting too mad at refs. Saw my team in the finals and have one of the longest ever undefeated streaks. Cried when players left or were traded. Got obsessed with incredible new ones right after they were drafted. Recruited my friends like an insane evangelist. So much love forever for this team. Fuck you @wnba and Cathy Englebert and Adam Silver for forcing this team out of New England, a place that has rode hard for women’s basketball longer than anywhere. If you live near a WNBA team 1) go to games it’s an unreal experience 2) invite me to come visit as I begin my new era of visiting other stadiums. I’m so mad about this but I love these players and the game too much to ever stop being a fan.
