ABOUT THE BOOK:
As the younger twin, Merridan has never minded being the “spare” to the Rothian royal throne. She knows her brother, Von, will be an excellent king, and she’d rather devote her time to the Goddess, faithfully using her magic to send deceased spirits from the holy lake to the Afterworld.

When the unthinkable happens and her brother is murdered, she is certain their rival kingdom, Nova, is to blame. After all, they worship a false deity and use their magic to toy with necromancy. But when the Goddess halts the investigation of Von’s death, Merridan takes matters into her own hands, performing a forbidden Novian ritual to attempt to speak to her brother’s ghost.

The last thing Merridan expects is to raise the wrong ghost. Now she’s bound to Phoenix Darragon, the arrogant crown prince of Nova—who was murdered the same night as Von. The prince makes Merridan a deal: if she takes his spirit to Nova to be resurrected, he will help her find her brother’s killer.

But uncovering the truth about the murderer means discovering Phoenix’s secrets, too. As the attraction between Merridan and the prince becomes undeniable and the threat of war builds, she must decide whether finding the truth is worth its cost if it means her beloved relationship with the Goddess is changed forever.

Any other ARC readers getting so monumentally bogged down in their ARC TBR and new releases that they haven’t read a proper TBR book in months?! Just me?! Okay, maybe not 😂

Well.. definitely me, and in planning I decided to make October my TBR month - and then I realised I could make it REALLY FUNNY and call it OC-TBR** (I truly do find myself absolutely hilarious and you should too) 😉

But the more I thought about it, I remembered that one of the best things about bookstagram is the community. There’s always someone who’s read the book you’re reading and willing to yap, there’s always someone to recommend, and all those things spin off into silly yet wonderful conversations. 🥰

And so I wanted to make Oc-TBR something that everyone could get involved in - either sharing your TBR, telling me which of my many options I should read first, AND even join me on a buddy read!! I freaking LOVE a buddy read. 📚

😈SHE PEGS HIM😈

Now that I have your attention let's talk about Sunsplitter by @authorsamaclean

Hopefully I have already made my love for Voidwalker and the sad wet cat of a demon that is Antal well known. Dare I say that Sunsplitter is even better!!!

So few books manage to keep tension going within an established couple without separation, miscommunication or some catastrophic betrayal. What we get here feels so much more real...unresolved and rapidly resurfacing ✨️daddy issues✨️

Fi who is used to meeting any issues with teeth bared and a hearty "fuck you" has to find the patience to let Antal come to his own conclusions while desperately trying to nudge him gently in the right direction.

The found family that develops in this when we are introduced to Antal's world and new characters is phenomenal! We also get a glimpse of some golden winged beings who I DESPERATELY hope we get to see more of in the future

Sunsplitter is out NOW and available on KU!

I will never be over being named in the acknowledgements! I cried then I immediately to shout at @authorsamaclean for completely blindsiding me!

I am continually shocked that by making my little account I've been able to chat with such incredible authors and even trick a couple into friendship!

Yes, I will continue to milk this African sunset for all its worth because just look at those colours!

𝙷𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚢 𝚛𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚎 𝚍𝚊𝚢! - 𝚂𝚞𝚗𝚜𝚙𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚋𝚢 𝚂.𝙰 𝙼𝚊𝚌𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚗

Today’s the day! Sunsplitter is finally out to the world to enjoy - and I really hope you do enjoy it as much as I did 🤩

Being on the Street Team for this book has been an absolute delight, meeting so many amazing people and seeing everyone’s creativity is astonishing 🥹 - thanks to @paging.vanth for the graphic on slide 2 🫶🏻✨

There are no words to capture the whirlwind this book was to read, but i enjoyed every second of it and to convince you to read book 2 in this amazing duology I leave you with this quote which I think sums up Fi and Antal perfectly:
