Here's my Last, Now, Next ✨️📖

I last read Sense and Suitability by Pepper Basham, which was a sweet and spring feeling romance!

I'm currently reading Butcher by Joyce Carol Oates, which has been super dark with a lot to analyse!

And next I'm going to read Spark of the Everflame by Penn Cole. It's been on my TBR for a while, so it's time to tick it off! It was picked by my TBR prompt jar, as seen in my last post! 🤭

🛋️Read in the Morning or Evening?
I definitely prefer mornings. I feel more focused and present when I read during the day. I love reading in the sunlight, especially when I’m surrounded by nature. At night I tend to get sleepy, especially if I’m reading in bed - or I end up staying up all night whoops...

🎧Audiobook or eBook?
I don’t actually use either, but I bought a Kobo and I’m really excited to start using it. I feel like it’ll make reading a lot easier when commuting or on road trips.

💭Fiction or Non-Fiction?
Fiction will probably always be my favourite. I love imagining new worlds and immersing myself in different characters and stories. But I do try to balance both.

📖Paperback or Hardback?
I absolutely love both. Usually I buy the paperback first, and if I really enjoyed the book then I’ll go back and collect other editions, especially hardcovers.

📜New or Old Releases?
I’m honestly not too fussed either way, but there’s something about books from the 2010s/pre-Covid era that just hit different. A lot of them felt really unique in their plots and characters. Nowadays many releases feel a little similar or inspired by each other.

🕯️Classic Lover or Hater?
Definitely not a hater. I’m actually trying to read more classics lately and I have quite a few on my TBR. A few favourites are 𝒜𝓃𝓃ℯ ℴ𝒻 𝒢𝓇ℯℯ𝓃 𝒢𝒶𝒷𝓁ℯ𝓈, 𝒯𝒽ℯ 𝒮ℯ𝒸𝓇ℯ𝓉 𝒢𝒶𝓇𝒹ℯ𝓃, and ℬ𝓁𝒶𝒸𝓀 ℬℯ𝒶𝓊𝓉𝓎.

🌳Silence or Noise?
I prefer silence because it helps me concentrate, but I do love natural sounds in the background. Leaves and trees rustling, birds chirping, insects buzzing. It almost feels like white noise.

🖇️Bookmark or Dog Ear
Definitely bookmarks now. During high school I used to dog ear my pages, but now that I buy my own books I’m a lot more careful with them. They feel like my little treasures haha.

Also slightly unrelated but how good does the 🍮 burnt basque brownie cheesecake look?! I got it from a café that recently opened and it was so good. Now I really want to try the matcha version next time teehee xx

🌍🤍📘HAPPY WORLD BOOK DAY!!📘🤍🌍 does anyone else massively miss dressing up? This morning whilst driving, I saw all of the children dressed up heading to my old primary school and it filled me with absolute joy. I’m so happy that such a beautiful world event has kept going through all these years… what a privilege it is to have access to so many stories and characters that we find ourselves relating to and admiring for an abundance of reasons. For that reason, I wanted to ignite some nostalgia in some of my book besties by asking them what they’d dress up as if they were given the chance to today!
