What a meaningful evening at the @acrsnews Gala 2026 with my @kac_washington family celebrating an organization that has been at the heart of our #asianamerican, #immigrant, and refugee communities for more than five decades.
As a first-generation immigrant, I know how important it is to have organizations that understand our languages, cultures, families, and lived experiences. ACRS doesn’t just provide services. It helps our communities be seen, heard, and represented.

What an incredible evening celebrating 70 years of Asia Society and 3 years of Asia Society Seattle having a home in Washington State!

Tonight we gathered to celebrate Asian excellence across humanitarian service, conservation, diplomacy, and the arts.

It was an honor to meet this year’s honorees and to volunteer for the third year in a row, helping support an organization that continues to create meaningful opportunities for dialogue, connection, and cultural understanding.

I’m especially grateful to my friend Man Wang, who first invited me to volunteer during our time serving together as Deputy Liaison Officers for APEC Seattle in 2023.

Three years later, I still find myself building community through Asia Society because of the vision of this platform truly aligns with my own personal values, and I learn something new every time I volunteer from these incredible events!

Like did you know the snow leopard habitable territory spans and unites 12 central Asian nations, and due to conservation efforts, over 60 countries met for dialogue and agreed to fight together to preserve the snow leopard? I had never heard of the The Snow Leopard Foundation till today, and I’m enthralled to see such visionary leadership amplified from Central Asia to Seattle and the world!

Thank you to Asia Society Seattle Executive Director Margaret for her visionary leadership and how you amplify the voices and stories of incredible Asia excellence doing good in this world, and a warm welcome to Asia Society’s newest global CEO, the Honorable Dr. Kevin Rudd.

The evening also demonstrated the power of philanthropy and community support.

Through the generosity of attendees and supporters, nearly $200,000 was raised in a single night to advance conservation efforts and the arts.

What struck me most was that regardless of profession, background, or station in life, people came together around the same values: representation, cultural heritage, environmental stewardship, and the power of the arts to tell our stories.

Proud to be a small part of this remarkable community and excited to see Asia Society Seattle continue to grow and serve our region and beyond. 🌎

Sunny, Pak, Keith and Sergei at HangarHive discussing mentorship.

Sunny has recently joined Prodigy Project’s Brain Trust. Prodigy Camp’s Brain Trust is a group of experienced advisors from music, film, psychology, neuroscience, business, and storytelling who help guide the philosophy and direction of Prodigy Camp. Their focus is not only on developing talented young artists and entrepreneurs, but also on helping them grow personally through confidence, emotional awareness, vulnerability, and storytelling.

Prodigy Camp is a place where young talent can develop not only their skills, but also their identity and confidence as artists and leaders. Over the years, the program has helped nurture talent that has gone on to become major cultural voices, including Grammy-winning artist Chappell Roan and award-winning actor Jacob Tremblay.

This kind of relationship is very much what we envision for HangarHive. The “Hive” is about bringing together communities with similar missions—each contributing their own experience, resources, and relationships to support emerging artists. Rather than duplicating what others are already doing well, we want to connect these organizations and create opportunities for all of us to have a greater impact together.

Sergei, a 12-year-old musician from San Francisco, started playing piano at just three years old and picked up guitar by five. Now a solo performer, member of the Break the Noise house band, and co-founder of the youth-led nonprofit Break The Noise, he’s already making a powerful impact.

This week, Sergei traveled to the Pacific Northwest to attend Prodigy Camp. On his way, he stopped by HangarHive and Totem Star. Mentored by Sunny Miller, HangarHive’s Founder and President, Daniel Pak, HangarHive board member and founder of Totem Star, and multifaceted storyteller Keith Garde, also a HangarHive board member.

We are excited about a blooming partnership with Break the Noise as we grow together. An inspiring week of creativity, mentorship, and youth-led innovation. Break the Noise is an exciting new youth-led nonprofit co-founded by sibling musicians Eliz and Sergei to give young musicians real opportunities to perform.

Today, Seattle gets to show the world who we are. 🏳️‍🌈⚽

This is the city we’ve been celebrating all month. A place where athletes, artists, advocates, business owners, and neighbors help create a place where people are free to be themselves.

If you’re joining us at the match, bring your Pride flags, wear your colors proudly, and help show the world what Pride looks like in Seattle.

Thank you to everyone who shared their story and helped us answer one simple question:
How Do YOU Pride?

Happy Pride Match Day. We’ll see you at the stadium. 💙💚💛🧡❤️💜

Big news!! The video revamp of our series, The Story, is officially here 🎙️

We’re kicking off Episode 1 with the brilliant @calconstellation! Before she takes her next big step and moves away from Seattle, Cal shared some words about her Totem Star experience. Hearing our artists talk about finding a true safe space to thrive and collaborate is everything to us. 🫶

In this feature, Cal highlights the impact of working alongside professional mentors and having open access to recording equipment in the heart of the city. ✨

Totem Star serves young artists in the greater Seattle area with recording studio time, professional mentorship, and paid performance opportunities out of our home base at King Street Station!

Listen to @calconstellation on streaming platforms 🎧

New to Totem Star? See the link in our bio to listen to The Resilience Mixtape, learn more about our mission, or make a donation to support the next generation of young musicians! 🎶
