I never imagined speaking up against Jew hatred would come with professional consequences.

I was doxxed. My business was placed on a “Do Not Refer” list.

I think the goal was to silence me. Instead, it had the opposite effect.

I found my voice, my people, and helped create spaces where others could feel heard, supported, and less alone.

We talk so much about generational trauma. But what about generational courage?

I don’t want my children to have to be brave just to be Jewish. I want them to experience Jewish joy, pride, and belonging without fear.

But until then, I hope they see that even when speaking up is scary, our voices matter.

And maybe using yours will help someone else find theirs.

Two things can be true.

Jew hatred doesn’t become less harmful depending on who is saying it or what political language it’s wrapped in.

And when Jews name what we’re experiencing, immediately minimizing, debating, or explaining away our pain adds another layer: traumatic invalidation. @miribh

Yes, it impacts our mental health.

You can try to discourage us.
But we have generations of courage behind us.

Still here. Still Jewish. Still choosing Jewish joy. ✡️💙

In Odessa and Bucharest, our children are preparing to welcome Rosh Hashanah in the way Jewish families have for generations—gathering around the table, saying the brachot, dipping apples in honey, sharing a festive meal, and wishing one another a sweet New Year.

This year brought an unexpected challenge. Food generously donated for our children, including for their Rosh Hashanah meals, did not make it through customs.

But the tables will be set.

Thanks to the extraordinary response from so many of you, we are working to replace what was lost and make sure our children can welcome 5787 surrounded by the warmth and traditions of Rosh Hashanah.

And as the New Year begins, we want to thank you for being part of their lives—not only during the holidays, but throughout the year. Your friendship reaches their homes and classrooms, their dinner tables, and the Jewish traditions they are learning and carrying forward.

May 5787 bring sweetness to your home, health to those you love, and the peace we so deeply wish for our children, for Ukraine, for Israel, and for people everywhere.

As we send our children back to school, I want to offer this protective blessing for your children and for my own. At a time when so many Jewish kids are walking into classrooms and onto campuses feeling more exposed, more scrutinized, and less safe simply for being proudly Jewish, my prayer is that they never make themselves smaller to make
the world more comfortable. May Hashem protect them, guide them toward the right people and the right opportunities, and surround them with goodness. May they be healthy, happy, safe, kind, strong and unapologetically proud Jews. May they always know who they are, where they come from, and how deeply they are loved. May the right doors open for them, may good news find them, and may they walk through this world doing mitzvot and leaving it better than they found it. To all of our beautiful Jewish children heading back into the world: may you be protected, may you be proud, and may you never dim your Jewish light. 💙🧿✡️ let us say Amen!

On November 3, friends of TiKVA will come together at STORIED NYC for The Magic of Hope—an evening of celebration, connection, beautiful food, and the stories of Jewish children whose lives continue to transform in extraordinary ways.

We are proud to honor Effy Zinkin and Pamela Pekerman, whose leadership, generosity, and commitment to Jewish children reflect the very spirit of this evening.

We’ll celebrate how far our children have come, share a glimpse of where they are headed, and raise the support that keeps their education, care, and Jewish futures moving forward across Ukraine, Romania, and Israel.

As a Jewish therapist and mom, I know the fear that can come with sending our children into a new school year.

We want to prepare them to recognize Jew- hate including antisemitism and antizionism, but we also don’t want fear to become the whole story.

Our children inherit more than generational trauma and fear. They inherit Jewish joy, wisdom, belonging and generational courage.

May we help them walk into this year rooted in who they are. 💙
