Snapshots from Yamba and a look at some of the delicious things I ate - unfortunately some of your restaurant recommendations were closed, but it’s a good excuse for a return trip ❤️

I was gifted my accomodation thanks to @oceanstays.com.au (more to come on where I stayed - it’s in a great location and big enough for a friends/family trip.

i think this might be the best birthday gift i’ve ever given myself. 🌊

i booked a week away in yamba with no real plans other than slowing down for a bit.

what i didn’t expect was finding one of the best places i’ve ever stayed.

Beach House Yamba was so good i could watch whales from the balcony.

it was also so good that i cooked myself dinner two nights in a row and breakfast every morning because i genuinely didn’t want to leave.

everyone who knows me understands just how unbelievable that sentence is. 😂

there were ocean swims, sunrise coffees, outdoor showers, long walks, afternoons spent staring at the horizon and more time barefoot than i’ve had in a very long time.

there was also a cinnamon scroll from @madre.yamba that deserves its own paragraph.

i headed out with @yambafishingandcharter and spent most of the trip squealing every time i saw a whale.

glynn threatened to throw me overboard if i didn’t calm down.

then, as if the universe wanted a laugh, a whale jumped up right beside the boat 😍😍

paradiso was incredible.

the food, the cocktails.

the coffee everywhere was ridiculously good.

angourie’s blue and green pools were every bit as beautiful as i remembered.

the weather couldn’t have been better if i’d ordered it myself.

and somewhere between the fishing trips, the beach walks, the balcony whale watching and cooking dinner for one, i realised something.

I don’t need much. just :

good food.

the ocean.

people who make me laugh.

and enough time to properly enjoy it all.

and to everyone i’ve spoken to since getting home, you’ll know i’ve said the same thing over and over again:

it might actually be the best thing i’ve ever done for myself.

i left feeling happier, calmer and more myself than i have in a very long time.

i genuinely don’t think i want to holiday anywhere else ever again.

and honestly, that’s fucjing big for me. 🤍

Saturday night dinner ✨ Had dinner at the beautiful @playabodega ✨ A few moments after we got our delicious cocktails, as we were ready to order, suddenly the emergency services are just outside the restaurant, then the electricity was cut in the restaurant and also out in the street 😯 after all of the drama the staff handled it all so well! We even got our food with the kitchen working on minimal lighting and all of this going on! The food was fantastic and they did an amazing job! 🤩 Ended the night with a night cap at one of my favourites @paradisoxo 🥰 #DinnerAdventures #DeliciousFoodandDrinks #PhoneLitDinner #StillNotSureWhatHappened #Cocktails

Paradiso Izakaya is an absolute gem tucked away in one of Australia’s most underrated coastal towns.

From the first sip, the Whiskey Sour cocktails set the tone—balanced, sharp, and exceptionally well executed. The food followed suit. We started with the betel leaf, pork and Sichuan dumplings, and chicken bao buns—each dish full of flavour, perfectly textured, and clearly made with confidence and restraint.

For mains and share plates, the pork belly was rich and indulgent without being heavy, the cauliflower delivered real depth and crunch, and the eye fillet was cooked beautifully, letting the quality of the beef do the talking.

What really makes Paradiso stand out is the contrast—finding food of this calibre and creativity in a relaxed, coastal town like Yamba feels like a genuine bonus. It’s polished without being pretentious, and exciting without trying too hard.

A must-visit if you’re anywhere near Yamba—this is coastal dining done right.
