@jairlobo takes us through 12 different snare drum sounds.

He makes it difficult to pick just one because they all sound fantastic.

For me the @sonordrumco Phonic reissue
The Beech/Rosewood 14x5.75 snare drum had me at the first hit!!

Which one is your favorite?

Thanks for sharing this collection with us @jairlobo

I got to play some cool shows this summer and doing the @thebrunomarsexperience was definitely one of them. @joshuapascuamusic absolutely kills it as @brunomars but the highlight for me is getting to play all the @silksonic slow jams that I never get to do at other gigs. Also, I need more ribfest gigs in my life 😂
I brought my @parradrums zapatero (purpleheart) snare for this one and it sounded glorious. Check out Ricardo’s work…he’s not only a master craftsman but an artist in what he does.
I also haven’t given enough love to Simon & the crew at @plungeaudio. Last year Simon helped me out with tips for my IEMs and I’ve had great sound ever since. Check them out if you’re in need of ears. Another great Canadian company 🇨🇦.
And as usual my trusty @loscabosdrumsticks 5Bs helping me hold it down. 🤘🏽

Is there a piece of gear that you absolutely need for any gig you play?

@jairlobo runs through 9 snare drums that are from his arsenal.

I’m sure he had a favorite. Do you?

We played a fall fair this weekend with the @taylorsstorytribute crew but didn’t realize how quickly the temp dropped. 🥶 We didn’t have heaters and I ended up playing with my jacket on. When I started the set my bass drum foot couldn’t play the busy pattern of the first song. Luckily after a few songs we warmed up and were able to put on a great show for the crowd.

This might be the last time for a while that I bring out my @ludwigdrumshq classic maple kit. It sounded phenomenal with the @evansdrumheads G2s on them. I also had the chance to bring out my very special @parradrums snare that my friend Ricardo made for me. Venezuelan zapatero (purpleheart) wood 🇻🇪Absolutely beautiful looking and sounding instrument. As always my trusty 5B @loscabosdrumsticks keeping things solid and consistent.

This was the last show for a while with this crew who have been nothing but good times. 🙏🏽🤘🏽

If you need drums on a project or a drummer for a show this Fall/Winter, I know a guy 🤓

A huge thank you to @rickbeato1 and the team at @fkco_cpa for visiting our factory and seeing firsthand how we make our drums.

We couldn’t have been happier to host such a wonderful group of people and share a little of what goes into making a Noble & Cooley drum.

Joining together of the steam-bent maple and bourbon barrel oak staves to form a single shell.

This is not simply for looks. With this shell, we’ve united the warmth, body, and sustain of the horizontal maple with the projection, articulation, and sensitivity of the vertical oak. Like a great bourbon, the sound of this snare reveals itself in layers. Stay tuned for more to come.

Shaping the stave portion of the Buffalo Trace stave-bent shell (stave / steam-bent hybrid) is the drum ASMR that we all need today.

Not pictured in this video is the distinct scent of finely-aged bourbon that fills the factory.
