When we interviewed @joe_woodhouse at @ludlowfood , the conversation centred on his latest book Weeknight vegetarian. In all honesty, we told Joe that we had started to bookmark the recipes we wanted to make, but gave up when we realised we wanted to make EVERYTHING.
Page 101 provided the latest inspiration, and we have now earmarked black bean and mushroom ma po for repeat appearances on the dinner table.

What a food indulgence at @embers.shropshire ,thirsty Thursday with @_thehungryguy @shropshire.lad @tessticks @zackgreenaway and all the top staff at their disposal. A great night of food,good wine from @pasoprimero and great company.. full as an egg but again came away with doggy bags of food and great bread cooked by @bakedbean.ironbridge. Thanks to all the chefs and staff for a great night and obviously @kimmmy75 @walshkate40 and @melvyn_chairhouse for the company.. see you at the next one.

Another @afoodfestival done and dusted with SO much good stuff going on.

Highlights included the @hangfirebbq gals perfecting puffy skin, @petebrownbeer being brilliant as ever on what music different beers tastes like, splendid spread of Spanish preserved fish from @mevalco_ @brindisaspanishfoods for my and @owen_morgan_44 @carteblanchewines wine event at @unfiltered_vino , first glimpse at @timhayward GORGEOUS new cocktail book, hot off the press as we speak and which must contain the very best author bio ever seen, @gowercottagebrownies Kate being her very best with knobs on, the best wine label at the festival from @pasoprimero, @chesterswinemerchants (again), and @ollysmith winning the weekend’s #trouserwatch prize with such aplomb.

Big thanks to all inc @oxfordlandingwines for generous wine sponsorship, and the festival team for such fab #hospitalty.
Special shout out to @anita_mangan @totallyjackson @fiona_c_smith @roocarter for extra lols 🙏😎

Surf and turf Caesar salad over fire. 🔥

Brined chicken, monkfish, streaky bacon, anchovies, charred lettuce, burnt spring onions, croutons fried in that bacon fat, black garlic through the dressing, tarragon, lemon, chive oil and lashings of Parmesan.

Nothing reinvented. Just taking the bits that make a Caesar brilliant and pushing them a little harder.

And then, most importantly, we ate it.

A great day demoing @ludlowfood today.

First demo was on the @kadai.uk 🔥 stage with my good friend & bbq legend @djbbq 3 dishes done ✔️
* 2 beautiful pork chops from @anthonys_of_wellingtonbutchers topped with cheesy leeks using lots of @applebyscheese & butter.
* Apple 🍎 doughnuts 🍩 using apples from my garden, cinnamon sugar, Damson cheesecake cream & burnt caramel sauce.
* Wagyu steak 🥩 sandwich with beef from @huntspremiumbeef @whatapicklecompany onion chutney and peppercorn sauce with amazing ciabatta from @petercooksbread & @twofarmerscrisps 😋

The my last demo of the day was on the main stage with my lovely friend @katiej.johnson @wotscooking we had lots of fun and I made.
* Homemade herb Gnocchi with a Rich milky sauce and flaked @thepishedfish hot smoked salmon & a generous grating of @applebyscheese before charring the top.
* Apple 🍏 tart tatin using apples from my garden, thank you to @harplanedeli for the puff pastry 👌served with a damson Chantilly, perfectly cooked in @nethertonfoundry pan & everything else served on @sytchfarmstudio crockery & @hotdogsfortea wood

I’ve been demoing @ludlowfood for over 16 years and it still makes me smile being on stage 🫶
