Stay tuned!!!! This day was a reminder that growth rarely feels comfortable.

Stepping onto this platform was a big deal for me because speaking in front of people has never come naturally. I still get the butterflies. I still get nervous. But this year I promised myself I would stop hiding and start saying yes to the opportunities God places in front of me.
I had the chance to share the vision for DeExclusive Events and how I hope to grow it into a multipurpose space that helps support the mission of Passion to Purpose. Hearing India’s advice challenged me in the best way. She read me like a book, and I truly received every word.
I’m grateful for this opportunity, grateful for everyone who cheered me on, and grateful that I’m finally finding my voice. Because the truth is, people can’t support what they don’t know about.
Here’s to more stages, more conversations, more growth, and walking boldly in the purpose God has for me. This is only the beginning. #Unlearning Silence with Derriel!!!

@passiontopurpose_ came alive today!! 👏🏼🥹

If you haven’t heard, Passion to Purpose is a non-profit youth mentorship program, dedicated to providing resources and guidance to underserved youth. Oh, and I’m actually the Board Secretary 🤭 (that title still seems so huge to me 🥹)

We had the absolute privilege of hosting Heart With Hope Foundation for a teenage girl’s night with the youth in their home 🥹 I am beyond grateful for the positions and opportunities God has placed me in, today truly was a full circle moment for me! Watching the girls come alive, be vulnerable and raw with each other (& us 🥲), pouring into themselves was the most perfect launch that we could ask for! It was truly a special night! ✨

THIS IS PASSION TO PURPOSE!! They got on my nerves, tested my patience, AND heard me say “don’t embarrass me in front of these people” about 50 times… and still went out there and did their thing
SECOND PLACE and I’m proud of them for pushing through every correction, every yell, every “run it back!” moment.
Now let’s be clear! I don’t like second place 👀 we coming for FIRST next time, no questions asked.
Love my girls down though, even when they be stressing me OUT 😭💖
