What happens when queerness and the sacred are welcomed into the same space?

For me, they meet in love.

The Queer Temple is my offering and my artistic expression.

It brings together my practice, my creativity, my queerness, and everything I am still learning about being human.

It is where my individual consciousness meets the collective.

Where what I discover within myself becomes something I can offer—and where your presence brings its own wisdom.

We gather through yoga, embodied practices, rituals, wisdom workshops and creativity.

We make room for stillness.
For play.
For conversation.
For being seen.

My intention is to nurture a space where we can meet our creative, queer medicine with loving awareness.

The wisdom in our bodies.
The courage in our expression.
The tenderness we carry.

This is my way of meeting my dharma.
Living my truth.
And offering it back to community.

We honour the land and lineages of Sri Lanka, whose living wisdom holds and guides the space we share.

Salasbananas.
The Queer Temple.
Thalpe, Sri Lanka.

Come meet yourself.

Quite the discussion on SLUDI and data protection with @samarajiva & @pathumego

Can digitalisation offer a better future for personal data without compromising the very privacy it ought to serve?

The conversation surrounding SLUDI and other digital initiatives must extend beyond technology and legislation to address a more fundamental question: who has access to our personal data, who governs its use, and who guarantees that it will not be misused?

Personal data should not become a resource over which individuals lose all meaningful control simply because it has been collected in the name of efficiency, security or development.

Safeguards matter. Laws matter. But so do institutional accountability, oversight and the limits placed on those entrusted with access. Intentions may be genuine at the outset, yet the exercise of power can evolve, and the purposes for which information is used can change.

Ultimately, the question is not merely whether we can digitise, but whether we can do so in a way that preserves individual autonomy and public trust.

Because the true measure of digital progress is not how much information a system can collect, but how responsibly it can be entrusted with what it knows about us.

p06–15, The Book of Happiness for a World of Crappy Design, 2011; A first year design project at @aod_design The brief was to make a book explaining basic principles of Graphic Design. The first thirty pages of the book violated design principles with text to illustrate how crappy design create chaos and clutter. However those pages turned out more interesting than my other work. Maybe art is violating principles.

Ponte City Johannesburg, built during Apartheid, then marked by abandonment and gang violence.

Designed by Mannie Feldman, Manfred Hermer and Rodney Grosskopff, completed in 1975.

Thank you, Kea from @dlalanje, for the visit and for sharing its history.

Visit made on the day judge Navi Pillay wins Nobel peace prize (South Africa's fourth!) for promoting international law.

#pontecity #brutalistarchitecture #urbexphotography #iconicbuildings #southafricanarchitecture Looking straight up from the rocky floor inside Ponte City, Johannesburg, South Africa. Repeated rings of concrete walls and rectangular windows rise around the cylindrical tower’s open central core, converging on a bright circle of sky. A tall concrete structure cuts through the curved geometry. At its base, a person in a fluorescent green vest stands amid uneven rocks, dwarfed by the building. Deep shadows and cool grey tones emphasise the scale and stark geometry of this Brutalist residential architecture.

Team Sangamam recently had the privilege of taking a guided tour with Pathum through Akurugraphy, a phenomenal exhibition at the Geoffrey Bawa Space.

Presenting a decade-long body of practice by Colombo-based type foundry Mooniak, the exhibition dives deep into the history, culture, and future of letterforms across Sinhala, Tamil, and Latin scripts.

From archival specimens to modern software development, Akurugraphy highlights how the digitization of our scripts shapes legibility, representation, and language survival in the digital era.
