POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Two years. Five “final” versions. Countless road tests. More “TRACK ID???” comments than I can count.

And now it’s finally out.

This is the story of how Born To Be Free went from one writing session in North London to road tests, rewrites, production changes, Carpark Catwalks and eventually a release on Nervous Records.

There were plenty of points where it could’ve stayed on the hard drive but I’m very glad it didn’t.

Massive love to everyone who helped get it here, and to everyone who supported the record before you even knew what it was.

MistaJam feat. Carla Monroe – Born To Be Free

Out now on Nervous Records.

Swipe for the story.

One of one. Built by Lägom Studio for The Sound Lab.

Our bespoke DJ booth, designed specifically for The Sound Lab. Every detail on this cabinet was a decision, and nothing was ever too much for the Lägom Studio team.

This is one of the best DJ booths I’ve ever seen, the attention to detail is next level. And at The Sound Lab, that’s one of our key focuses.

Thank you to Harry, Chris and the whole team, couldn’t recommend them enough.

I’ve been throwing in Dolly Parton tracks to my DJ sets for a number of years now. Back in the mid 2010s, when moshing became the thing people would do during drum and Bass tunes, Dolly‘s 9 to 5 would always calm down the rave. The Todd Terje edit of Jolene absolutely shut it down the last time I played hideout festival, Notting Hill Carnival and here at CarFest last year. In a select few gigs, Jolene has been a staple of mine whether during warm up or to reset the energy at the end of my set.

Rest in peace Dolly Parton. Thank you for the music, the memories, your legacy, and for saving this DJ‘s backside so many times over the years.

Still cannot believe @void_lincoln is closing its doors 💔

Void will always hold a special place for me because it was the very first venue I played at, back in 2022 supporting Sub Focus🩷 I’ll always be forever grateful for that opportunity & for @squareonednb putting me on so many incredible lineups at Void 🙌🏼✨

I’m so excited to be back & cannot wait for this (even if i’ll be running a half marathon the next morning 🫣🫣)

Spring has already been a big one for the team 🌞

From packed terrace parties and outdoor shows to corporate events across the county, the season is already in full swing — and now our sights are set firmly on summer.

In just 3 weeks, festival season officially begins, with the first of 10 festivals kicking off for us this year 🔊⚡️

All winter we’ve been behind the scenes investing in major upgrades to our sound and production, and we’re finally ready to show you what we’ve been working on.

Bigger stages. Heavier sound. Higher energy.
